Would you go vegetarian if you had a choice?!

Question: Would you go vegetarian if you had a choice?
Some of you might say no, but I want you to be honest here. Some people here might be un-successful vegetarians that are tempted by meat products, or people just starting out that find it very difficult to choose what to eat. It doesn't matter, as long as you are truthful.

Answers:

I would not choose to go vegetarian. I respect that many people are vegetarians for health and/or religious reasons but I'm not one of them.

I've always found a balanced diet steering away from processed food works the best.

I don't see why everyone doesn't have a choice. I certainly CHOOSE to eat meat. There's no logical, moral, ethical reason to not eat meat. Contrary to what PETA, HSUS, and other animal rights organizations tell you children, animals are NOT routinely abused and mistreated in the agriculture community. Stressed animals produce meat that is less valuable than calm, well managed animals. So why would anyone mistreat their animals?

You guys look at "Meet your Meat" and believe every word. Yet doctors, professors, scientists, the US Government tell you otherwise and you refuse to listen. It's ok with me, since 98% of vegetarians will be back eating meat probably next week, but don't pretend everyone WANTS to be vegetarian. Here in the US it's very easy to become a vegetarian. Today vegetarian items are on the supermarket shelves, in restaurants and even fast food restaurants! If someone really wants to be a vegetarian, they can do it. The fact is very few people want to be vegetarian and even fewer stay with the program.

David are you daft? You actually think that if people stop buying or eating animals that the shop keeper would still continue buying the same amount week after week of loosing customers. Somebody doesn't understand supply and demand. If there is less demand for something than less supply will be made.

However I guess by your logic anyone should be a rapist because a womyn or in rarer cases a man is likely to get raped anyway so why not? Or maybe we can all be pedophiles because somebody is going to do it so why not? Or maybe we can go on shooting sprees because somebody is going to do it so why not? That is how your logic works. It is a totally crap logic that seeks to make something ok because others do it when in the real world it is wrong beyond wrong.

You have to take yourself out of the cruelty because nobody else can do it for you. You need to stop exploiting animals, whether the shopkeeper does it or not. If not you, who? If not now, when? You cannot make the excuse that somebody else is doing it so that means I should do it because they won't change. People are always using that excuse and that is the reason nothing changes because every is afraid of changing and for a short while being different. It is a b.s. reasoning that doesn't help anybody.

To answer the original question:
If veganism was a choice than I would make it over and over and over till after I die. However if the choice was vegetarianism I would not make that choice because I don't want to exploit animals in any part of my life and want avoid that as far as practical and possible.

vegan because animals are not property

No and by the way we already have a choice. It's not that I did not choose to be a vegetarian but it's because I chose and will continue to eat meat so I am and will not be a vegetarian.
In case you have the follow up question: Why I choose to eat meat? It's because all the arguments against me doing so are not convincing or compelling enough to change my mind.

I would not be willing to give up a 12oz med rare KC Strip for a plate of lettuce and broccoli. Or a 6 oz piece of lemon herb chicken breast for a plate of beets. I deffinetly wouldn't turn down a rack of slow smoked ribs so I can eat carrot sticks! I would rather die than live on twigs and berrys!

I DO have a choice to go vegetarian, and I have ALWAYS had a choice.

I have never chosen to go vegetarian, honestly.
