What does your typical day of eating ...?!

Question: What does your typical day of eating ...?
look like?
My doctor has told me that I'm lacking some important nutrients and I just don't know how to get them into me.

What does a normal day of eating for you like? can you list some foods
I think my problem is that I usually only eat 1 real meal and that's when I get home at night.
During the day I really don't eat much at all. Maybe a banana if i'm lucky.

Hi, yes that does sound like a problem. We all need to eat a healthy, balanced diet to get all the nutrients we need.

An example of my typical day would be;

Breakfast- Porridge with soya milk, mixed seeds and raisins
Snack- Banana (or 2!), some nuts
Lunch- Vegetable and lentil soup, wholegrain bread roll
Snack- Carrot sticks and hummus
Dinner- Bean curry or chili with brown rice.

You should try to eat a lot of fruit, vegetables, grains, potatoes, beans, nuts etc.

I make sure I get either fresh fruits or fresh vegetables with every meal.
I eat some protein at least once a day. It can be from tofu, mushrooms, cheese, beans, fish or rarely meat. Avoid processed meats with sodium nitrites such as hot dogs or salami or sausage, instead eat fresh foods not out of the can if possible, but if its in the can, make sure rolthere is not any nitrites or nitrates, and avoid Monosodium glutamate, hydrolized protein (another name for msg)

Use butter instead of margarine or hydrongenated fats, and for cooking choose olive or corn or coconut oil when possible and stay far away from Crisco types of hydrogenated fat.

Hmmmm well, I eat pretty healthy so I'll tell you what I've ate today.
Breakfast - Cliff bar, and some coffee...
Lunch- Tofurkey sandwich, snappea crisps, baby carrots, an apple, and a piece of dark chocolate
For dinner tonight, I'll probably have some lentil soup or something, it depends on what I want (Last night, I had pasta with marinara sauce)

So, basically, keep a wide variety of veggies, fruit, grains, and proteins in your diet and you should be fine. I also suggest, if you decide "OH, I WANT A BANANA FOR BREAKFAST" that you eat it on a slice of toast with peanutbutter, which will make it a more complete breakfast. :)

I never have a typical day! I eat when I'm hungry. Today I had an egg over easy on whole wheat toast for breakfast. For lunch I had natural Peanut butter and 100% fruit spread on 2 slices of whole wheat bread and a glass of skim milk and for dinner I made vegetarian whole wheat matzoh ball and onion soup and a cucumber salad. I'm not a big snacker but some people need to snack. If I do snack, I'll maybe have some lowfat cheese on whole wheat crackers or a pickle or 2.

Well, I don,t eat alot of protein either, but here's what I had/am planning on having today!
Breakfast- 2 miniature rolls with 1/2 tbs of light margarine with cinnamon and splenda sprinkled on and a 6 oz of fat free light yogurt in key lime flavor.
Starbucks tall nonfat latte with sugar free cinnamon syrup.
Lunch- Salad with 1 tbs of fat free light Italian ceasar dressing. A can of asparagus with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. 1 peppermint kiss candy, 1 miniature reese's peanut butter cup.
Snack- an apple
Dinner- Broccoli, cauliflower, chicken quiche.
Dessert- weight watchers latte bar. :)

I generally speaking have (on a work day) a spinach wrap at Starbucks (egg, spinach, feta cheese), a veggie burrito (cheese, black beans, guacamole, lettuce, green pepper, onions) for lunch, and dinner is usually a variety of things. (i.e. Indian food, or a boca burger, or pasta) I also snack on pomegranate seeds, nuts, cheese +crackers, green beans, apples, or sunflower seeds every day, throughout the day.

My typical day as recommended by a nutritionist would be something like this:

Breakfast- bran flakes with milk or a cinnamon and raisin bagel
Snack- cereal bar
Lunch- wholemeal sandwich and piece of fruit
Snack- yogurt
Tea- maybe a pasta dish or meat and potatoes etc...
Supper- a treat- cake, biscuits etc

Hope this helps!!!

If you're vegetarian, you need to get some beans/lentils or tofu in your diet. That's what vegetarians in other parts of the world eat. We've got to learn from them.

Today I ate half a box of Annies Macaroni and cheese
and some homemade mushroom curry with rice

usually i eat more i think, that is just today

a banana.... all day? not good. not not good.

you should have protein,carbs,fat,dairy everyday.

and atleast the three main meals. a good brekafast, so you get the energy you need fr the day, and it set you up for the day.

tuna mayyonaise with corn.

some lunch ideas.

and then is good ot have a good dinner aswell. with carbs, protein adn vegetables/salad!!

and i mean, its ok to have a snack or two a day. i mean they can be healthy llikfe fruit/trail mix/grnola bar, or even like a cookie or two witha cup of tea!!

my day - good breakfast - porridge with milk, jam and banana(Or raisins.)
or milk/yoghurt with cereal/muslie adn maybe a fruit. sometimes i jstu have fruit salad with yoghurt. or naturel yoghurt with honey.

lunch - if i can i'll havea sandiwch or something cooked... someitmes left overs. i like seomthing light like soup/chowder iwth maybe a piece of toast. or beans and eggs. salad with corn and tofu an then like tomatoes/cucumber/paprika etc etc.

might have a snack like fruit/granola bar

dinner - soemthing like rice and vegetables/pasta and Quorn burger/potatoe and fish/sometiems it is jsut like steamed vegetables with seom rice or seomthing.

and there might eb a snack or soemtype of dessert. i like soemthing like smoothie/fruit salad with yoghurt/naturel yoghurt with honey or a hot chocalte!!
