Question: I'm thinking about becoming vegitarian, but I'm not sure.?
I'm twelve and I've never really liked meat anyway, but, lately, the idea of an animal being slaughtered has really gotten to me. I'm religious so I recognize that the bible says god gave us animals to eat, so please no comments about that, but I just can't get over it.
So, if I go through with it, what tips coul you give me for staying healthy without meat?

Well, becoming a vegetarian requires a lot of sacrifices, so before you decide you want to actually be one, you need to recognize that there are many types of vegetarians. You can avoid drinking milk and consuming dairy products all together. You could have dairy products and not eggs, or you can have dairy products AND eggs but avoid "real" meat. Now, I am a vegetarian myself and do have dairy products like milk and ice cream, and stuff like that. I also eat eggs because it is the only way I can get my protein. For a diet, you could start off with steaming veggies with a little salt, or pastas, salads. There are a lot of different cuisines that offer vegetarian options, including a lot of Asian cultures. India for one is hugely populated with vegetarians so you could also try their food. Many Chinese restaurants offer "vegetarian chicken" or "vegetarian beef." Many people who have tried these dishes say that they taste just like the real thing, and that you can't really tell the difference. Becoming a vegetarian takes a lot of commitment, so I suggest you think hard about whether you really want to become one or not. Also, ask a nutritionist or your doctor about more vegetarian options, as the ones I suggested are only a few of the thousand of food options available today. Well, I think it's great that you're considering eating a lot more plants and avoiding meat because that is very healthy for you, but I've also heard it said that there are nutrients in meat (such as protein and the building blocks of protein - amino acids) that you cannot get just from plants. So, a little meat every once in a while is certainly not going to hurt you. You can also consider becoming primarily an "ovo-lacto vegetarian", that is, a vegetarian that also can have eggs and milk, and also avoid most meat... good luck and stay healthy !

insects are animals too, so your question is not fully stable

please answer the question with more clarity.
humans are classified as omnivores, right?
so, continue with a balanced diet including meat/fish/eggs as part of it.

trust me, there are some fat vegetarians at my school, and I already learned about vegetarianism and veganism in my health class last year.

if you really want to become vegetarian, don't eat too much fake burgers and fake hot dogs filled with loads of preservatives, but it is a hard road ahead

BEWARE: vegans sometimes have malnutrition problems
(no omega 3 and stuff like that and omega 3 is pretty important)
vegans don't eat milk or meat, so where does the vitamin B12 come from?
some vegans use B12 pill to help, but the pills can sometimes make people sick

I am a meat-eater and still fit because balanced meals count.

I felt the same way as you when I was younger, but because my meals were prepared by my parents and they ate meat, I often wound up only eating the "side items" to the meal and depriving myself of essential nutrients found in meat (like iron and protein) and became anemic. So if you decide to become a vegetarian, make sure you talk to your parents so they can incorporate the appropriate nutrients into your new diet, rather than just throw a few extra carbs into your diet. The best meat substitutes, nutrients wise, are beans, eggplant, mushroom, tofu and protein/iron rich veggies like spinach.



By being a vegetarian you'll be saving one hundred animals each year.

You dont have to worry about protein, its found in all vegetarian foods. Beans, rice and pasta are good sources of protein.

Its easy to become a vegetarian these days, and its getting easier.



Im sick of people saying vegetarians don't have enough protein intake NOT TRUE. Soy products have a lot more protein than meat, and no cholesteral. Just put yourself in those animals position, they are not inferior and have just as much feelings as we do. If your family doesnt agree who cares do what you feel is right.

Im 12 and im a vegeterian and i tink u shud be too. But that's only if u want jus tink about the questions i had sed and then ull get a great descision. uii wud say u shud but itz not wat i want itzz wat u want :D good luck!!



it matters what kind of a person you are. Some people get sick from being one. And some people are just fine. I can't be one, because it'll make me sick... AND REALLY HUNGRY!! so I'd consult a few people and maybe a doc. Good luck! :)

by not eating meat your not saving any animals, no less animals are being killed, animals are there as a great source of protein and help you stay healthy. Meat also contains alot of amino acids inwhich your body needs which you may find hard to get elsewhere.



you must fulfill protin limit by having nonanimal protin. I think by this way you can keep you healthy.



i used to be a vegetarian but i love meat and cheese alot so yeah
