There is protein in most foods. Don't think that you need to beans or tofu every day to get enough protein.

It's all about how many servings you eat.

Fava Beans have 22 Grams of Protein in one serving
Lentils have 17 Grams
Kidney Beans have 16 Grams
Black Beans (the type of bean I eat most often) have 15 Grams
Blackeyed, Garbanzo and Lima Beans have 14 Grams of Protein in each Serving.

So, if your goal is to get 50 grams of protein a day, you could have multiple servings of beans in one day. (I'm more than 200 pounds, over 6 foot and athletic, so when I eat, I naturally grab 2 servings... so with my favorites: Black Beans, I get 30 grams in one meal) I also snack on Sunflower seeds throughout the day. (half a serving of that is another 12 Grams of Protein)

Beans tend to run on average about 4 to 7 grams per cup. That's eating a LOT of beans. You might want to take a look at the Vegetarian Resource Group information on Protein for a better variety. Also remember that beans are NOT a complete protein. You must eat other protein foods for a complete protein or you will have problems for lack of protein.
