Vegan diet, bloating & gas?!

Question: Vegan diet, bloating & gas?
I'm pretty new to the whole vegan diet (since september 2010) so its been almoist 3 months. Just in the last few weeks I've noticed bloating, which is embarassing, and gas, which is a lot more embarassing. Any help or explaination to this? I get that my body is adjusting but this long after I strted being a vegan?

There are many possibilities- one is that you have increased your consumption of fruits and veggies. This is a good thing and they are definitely healthy for you but make sure you don't over-do it (i.e more than 10 servings a day) because they can be hard to digest- especially apples!

Rice and white bread are also hard to digest, if you are eating that too

Increased beans (as well as nuts and vegetables) will do this. It happens, and is good for you. lol. As the old song goes: Beans, beans. A wonderful fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot the better you feel. So, eat your beans with every meal.

It's impossible to answer this without knowing the specifics of your previous and current diets.

If you're eating a lot of nuts, that could be why.
