A good variety of fresh fruit and vegies, no need to be too picky just make a habit of lots of them every day, for their anti-oxidants, their alkalysing effect on the body, as well as their vitamin and mineral content. Eating a few blueberries now and then is not going to have as much of a positive effect as eating loads of a variety of (preferably raw) fruits and vegies daily.

Are you asking for a homework project or yourself personally?

Natural foods high in anti oxidants, enzymes, minerals, vitamins are fantastic for the skin.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are wonderful for the skin.

Water helps to flush the kidneys, which in turn helps the skin.

Good fats like avocado. Food that has a very high natural water content like cucumber and watermelon. Fruits and vegetables that contain vitamins A & C which are both renowned for skin repair. Things like carrots, oranges, kiwis, pomegranates, blueberries, lemons, papaya. Spinach and celery are both great too.

Fruits and vegetables should be eaten fresh and raw. Not tinned or cooked.

To maintain youthful looking blemish free clear skin you need to eat these foods on a daily basis. As the previous poster Mimi says: Eating a few blueberries now and then is not going to have as much of a positive effect as eating loads of a variety of (preferably raw) fruits and veggies daily.

You also need to exposure yourself to vitamin D from natural sunlight but don’t overdo it because too much sun causes wrinkles. Sitting in direct sunlight without sunscreen for 5 - 10 minutes a day is fine but sun baking with tanning lotion for 1 hour isn’t.

You also need a good skincare routine. Forget all those expensive chemical cosmetic concoctions and stick to simple chemical-free natural cosmetics. Pure rosehip oil is absolutely brilliant for reducing wrinkles. I have been moisturizing my face with it every day for over a year now and the results have been amazing.

A positive attitude and worry-free life also help you to stay looking youthful.

Refined sugar is terrible for the skin, so fizzy sodas, energy drinks and cordials are very bad if you are trying to clear up acne. Excess sugar also causes wrinkles. Dairy clogs up your pores and so should be avoided if you are trying to clear acne.

Nothing will work forever, as getting old and getting wrinkled is a fact of life. But at least you can slow the progress in a safe way.

Papaya (carotenoids), mushrooms (selenium), green peppers (silica), avocados (oils), aloe (silica), carrots (carotenoids), sweet potatoes (carotenoids) and lemons (cleansing).

All of these foods help protect the skin. Carotenoids darken the skin to protect from sun and radiation. Selenium, silica and oils help add layers/coatings to skin. Plus all these foods nourish the skin.

The two elements you want to look for are mineral building blocks, especially biotin, and Omega-3 and other healthy fats. Great sources of these are nuts and seeds, like almonds and walnuts for the healthy fats and biotin. Tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and carrots also contain great amounts of biotin.
Otherwise, the #1 most important food for this is...
Water!

And if you doubt it, one of the very first things a dermatologist will talk to you about is your water intake. Water and sleep are vital to skin because water makes up most of every single cell in your body, and sleep is the time when your skin repairs itself. You can ALWAYS see the difference... after all, don't you FEEL better when you've had a good night's sleep? It shows!
