Alexia chipotle flavored fries?!
Answers:
Yes, they appear vegan. Now the only thing that may not be vegan about them is that they have natural cane sugar in it - and some cane sugar is not vegan because of their refinery methods. Some cane sugar manufacturers use bone char of animals to whiten the cane sugar. So it depends on the source. I am on the phone with the representative, and she said that she will be trying to get the source of that natural cane sugar for me so I can list it here. Sugar comes up twice on the ingredients - once in the seasoning ingredients for the chipotle seasoning and the representative said that the source of that sugar is off-limits, [hmmm...interesting]), and then it comes up again as 'natural cane sugar' as one of the basic ingredients - that she said she will look for the answers for. Of course she said she had to call me back with those answers - that she didn't know the source offhand.
I once did this to find out the source for the palm oil included in Earth Balance, and just like this phone call today, the rep dodged the question, took my number for a callback, and then never called me with the answer.
These people are what they are, I guess. They get upset when we want to know what's in our food, and what the source of it is. And never tell them why you want to know because then they'll just flat-out lie to you so as to "reassure" you.
So take it from me, I have to do this often.
