Do you consider fish a meat?!

Question: Do you consider fish a meat?
Well, I've been a 'vegetarian' for 3 months, but my friends say I'm not a real 'vegetarian' because I eat fish. Is that true?

Answers:

Fish is an animal, and is therefore a type of meat when consumed. Vegetarians do not eat meat, including fish (and poultry.) If you follow a vegetarian diet with the addition of fish, you are what's known as a pescatarian.

Vegetarians do not eat the flesh of animals. Fish are animals. Vegetarians do not eat fish. As far as vegetarians are concerned, fish is meat.

Folks who want a label but can't give up all animal flesh invented a term "pescatarian" to describe people who don't eat land animals, but do eat sea creatures.

The confusion no doubt stems from the fact that some religions don't treat fish as meat.

This question has been asked over and over and over and over. A simple search would have led you to the answer.

Yes, vegetarians don't eat fish. You're actually a pescatarian, a 'vegetarian' who eats fish.

It doesn't matter if they're a meat or not, a vegetarian doesn't support animal slaughter in any way. Same with gelatin, it's not actually meat...but rather bones, which is animal slaughter. So that means you cannot eat jello, or anything with gelatin in it either.

I consider myself a vegetarian, and I eat fish once a week or so. The definition of a vegetarian is a person that does not eat red meat, such as beef and pork. Chicken, turkey, and fish are allowed. But, I do not eat any meat, chicken or otherwise, except for fish. You are a real vegetarian if you do not eat red meat.

I don't know what the official definition is but I consider anything with eyes to be meat.

If you went veggie for your health then fish is generally a good, lean source of protein.
If your choice is to not kill/ eat animals then fish are definitely not on your menu.

Who are you trying to please anyways- them or yourself?

Fish is a meat. It comes from a living animal and is a muscle therefore, it is a meat. Btw this has nothing to do with anything but I think you are very brave for being a vegetarian, I would last 2 hrs being a vegetarian and have a steak lol.

Fish is meat because "meat" is the flesh of a living creature. In simple terms, vegetarians don't eat anything that had a face. So your friend is indeed correct. You aren't a vegetarian.

My opinion is that fish is a meat because although fish is not a land animal, it is an animal of water. I've never known anyone to refer to fish as anything other than a meat.

Anything with a heart beat is classified as meat.
Some say bacon isn't pork, just because we say it doesn't make it true.
Fish is a meat product, sorry.
Why did you decide to go vegetarian?

The muscle of a cow is meat. Why wouldn't the muscle of a fish be meat as well? Fish are still animals and need to be killed for someone to eat them.

fish is meat because meat comes from an animal and fish is an animal

If it is not vegetable or mineral, it has to be animal. Therefore fish is meat. What did you think it was tofu???

Yes fish is considered as meat.

Yes. You truly aren't a vegetarian but do you care that much about labels?

Yes, I do. To Hades with what wacko vegetable people say.

your friend is wrong, fish is NOT a meat.

duh, everyone knows fish isnt actually a meat. anyone who thinks other wise is not correct. through religion and science both, fish is not a meat. idk what its considered though.
