**** average joe's answer. I'm vegan and I feel much better then I ever did letting animals suffer for my meals. Do your research and it's super easy to make sure you get all of your nutrients and everything. Never let anyone tell you that it's unhealthy! What's unhealthy is drinking milk after the nursing stage (which humans are the only species to do) and clogging your organs up with meat (which is horribly unhealthy for you, despite what people think). Getting protein from plants is much more efficient anyways.

As a resident of Richmond, Virginia I shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Ellwood Thompson, however many regular grocery stores have sections with limited vegan options as well. Also check out this list: http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/accidentally-vegan.aspx#

http://www.happycow.net/ also has a search tool that can help you find out where to grub as well.

Being vegan!

Are you talking about Bakersfield California? There they have a grocery store called Nature's Food Market and Juice Bar. If it's not in California, you could also try Fresh and Easy, Sprouts, Trader Joes and maybe even some of your local grocery stores! There are also some online vegan food stores like: Pangea and Vegecyber. If all else fails, you could always wait for the next Farmer's Market in town! It's wonderful that you want to go Vegan and it's a very energizing and refreshing thing to go through! :)

myself and through Google

i live in bakersfield too!! but Trader joes has like tofurkey or whatever it is but fresh and easyy has tofu(the best and cheapest tofu ever) they also have protien dogs and protien chickenless strips and chickenless breasts and soy ground beef (all vegan)! Costco has a ton of fruits and veggies, stock up there!

im 15 and vegan

Surely there are fruit and vegetable shops or do people just live on high omega six fatty meat and high energy nutrient poor grains. I don't think so. So will you be healthier if you are vegan.

That is a great step but a hard one if you like the taste of meat. it is hard resisting it but is also very hard to cope with the fear of eating something like a harmless animal. but if you have the will power i say go head and try it and see how it comes out.

Kroger's "Nature's Market" section is fabulous!
Whole Foods is a health food store that also has some good choices, but it's kind of expensive.

not worth the possible health risks
