Why do humans eat animals? Should we eat only plant produce?!
Even if there were a plant alternative, I feel disinclined to adopt it; I dislike restriction by an outside agency.
I want to be the chooser, not the puppet.

Humans have the choice to eat plants and animals, or just plants.
Vegetarian since birth
Meat is fantastic, its has so much flavor, beautiful texture, and its an great source of protein in your diet.
I love trying new foods whether its veg, fruits or meats, i love cooking with new ingredients and trying new things. for example, last night i had ostrich carpaccio with polenta and lashings of parmesan followed by a beautiful venison and chilli stew with a side of lamb brains on a bed of cauliflower puree. true story and all my life did it taste fantastic.
The important thing to remember with meat is to source well. Buy from butchers who get the meat from reputable abattoirs who know which farm the animal is from, make sure that the animal has been well treated and properly slaughtered. You should know the process of slaughtering an animal as it is important that you do know what your eating.

Humans eat animals because they can. Meat tastes nice, is digestible and provides useful energy and nutrients.
But if you want to reduce your risk of cancer, vegetarianism is the way to go.

Well we wouldn't be here without it. We evolved to eat meat. Humans have been eating meat for Hundreds of Thousands of years. In cold climates and climates with seasons it was a MUST to eat meat or die. Animals eating animals is just how it works. There is No living life-form that doesn't exist at the expense of another life-form. For something to live, something else HAS to die, from plants, to animals, to micro organisms. Its just how it works.
The only way veg*ns can live their lifestyle is because they have money to buy food from their local Mega Mart fully stocked with all the food they need. MANY people in the world don't have this luxury. They HAVE to eat anything they can just to survive. Tell them eating meat is not ethical
There don't need to be any sides or agendas. I eat a plant based diet 90-95% of the time. The other 10% includes meat, chicken, and lots of fish. When I do buy 'food with a face", I try to buy sustainable and pasture raised since it is the kindest to the animal while conveniently, healthiest for me. You can go out there and read all the screaming heads you want, in the end, either you ARE one of the screaming heads, or you just want to do what is right for your body.... oh, and learning how to cook well makes it a wonderful gift to yourself!

i'm 30 and been a veggie since i was 14 - i have no problem with people eating meat. it's your life, your choice. the only thing that bugs me about some meaties is how unwelcoming they can be at meal times - i don't have a go at u 4 eating meat so don't be rude 2 me and tell me that i'm a fussy eater !!!
Human can live on plants but in order to maintain a healthy immune system we need to eat meat to contribute a healthy and strong system , fish gives out proteins that help our health, and so does chicken a and meat,but you must be sure to choose the right type of meat to reduce disease .
if people think eating meat is so natural to humans, i'd like to see them kill an animal with their teeth which is what other animals do, and eat that flesh without cooking it first. sure, we've evolved to use tools to kill the animal/cook it, but that's not very natural is it...
The most readily available answer to the omnivore v. herbivore debate can be found in your mouth. Human teeth are that of an omnivore. There're many more example of this through out the human body but the teeth are right there, in your face so to speak.

Ethically speaking, I don't think it's right to eat animals. I mean, we've been eating them since way back, but that doesn't make it the "right thing to do". It's just culture. We as humans have been raised as meat eaters because of culture, but hardly anyone stops and says "wait...is it right to eat animals?" because we've done it for so long and without thought. We have been taught since birth to suppress our natural compassion for animals for the sake of culture, not taking into consideration that animals feel pain and suffer just like humans. It's okay for other animals to eat each other because they don't know right from wrong, but us humans do.

Humans eat animals because (to make this a short history lesson) we evolved the ability to develop tools & weapons & move away from merely foraging for dead animal carcass & eggs.
Where foraging is the main source of food for tribes, they can partake in chasing animals or laying traps to catch small animals. Our use of weapons & tools has helped basically form our society.
So eating meat is purely a historical reasoning on the basis that our ancestors did it, it doesn't make it correct but simply points to in certain circumstances our omnivorous capabilities have allowed for a greater chance of survival in the wild or winter when plants hibernate or die off
Should we eat plant produce only? that really depends on where you stand ethically & knowing your nutrition. Vegetables contain a much higher level of nutrition across the scope than meat which is fairly restricted to iron/protein/b12 & small traces of other minerals (PS these are in high proportion to most vegetables though, apart from iron).

humans have evolved to be omnivores. that doesn't mean you can't be vegetarian/vegan and be healthy. as we know, too much meat is very bad for us and contributes to many of the illnesses which affect large numbers of us today.
my sister is a total vegetarian and has been since she was two years old because she loves animals too much to eat them. everyone in the family tried to convince her to eat meat but she refused. she's now 5 and hasn't eaten meat in 3 years. she likes the taste especially bacon, but won't go near it. she doesn't have a problem with things as long as she can eat around the meat. she is perfectly healthy.
