Should lions/wolves etc be punished?!

Question: Should lions/wolves etc be punished?
Before you get angry - this question isn't to start a fight. I just honestly don't understand how vegetarianism works.

Whether people like it or not, it IS natural and healthy for humans to eat meat. That's why we eat it in the first place. From what I've seen, most vegetarians think people who eat meat are bad/immoral/evil etc.
Lions/wolves and similar animals also eat meat. It's the exact same situation - the victim animal still suffers, goes through pain, the only difference is the species that's killing it. Should these animals be looked down on too?

What's the difference between them killing an animal and us killing an animal?

Answers:

The only way veg*ns can live their lifestyle is because they have money to buy food from their local Mega Mart fully stocked with all the food they need. MANY people in the world don't have this luxury. They HAVE to eat anything they can just to survive. Tell them eating meat is not ethical.

We wouldn't be here without meat. We evolved to eat meat. Humans have been eating meat for Hundreds of Thousands of years. In cold climates and climates with seasons it was a MUST to eat meat or die. Animals eating animals is just how it works. There is No living life-form that doesn't exist at the expense of another life-form. For something to live, something else HAS to die, from plants, to animals, to micro organisms. Its just how it works.

If eating meat is not healthy Craig, why are there Billions of healthy omnivores? I agree fast food meat, processed meat, and eating way to much meat is bad. But lean fresh meat eaten in moderation with a healthy balanced diet is very healthy, this is a FACT!

Logic, Nature, Common Sense

First off, lions are carnivores, not omnivores like us. Even if had the ability to choose, they'd have no option but to eat meat.

Second, people who are veggie for ethical reasons are often that way due to the mass mistreatment of animals by the food industry. Lions, last I checked, don't battery-farm hens, for example.

It -is- natural to eat meat. However, it's civilised to be able to make an informed choice not to.

It's natural to eat meat?
Our teeth, stomach acid, intestinal tract length, lack of night vision, and salva suggest otherwise.

It's healthy to eat meat?
Westerners' heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and cancer suggests otherwise.

As for the crux of your "argument",
appealing to the ethics of creatures who HAVE NO ETHICS is quite silly.
Similar to saying "my baby doesn't understand the concept of abuse, so why not abuse him?"
It also opens the door to ethical justification of all sorts of things which occur in nature,
such as rape and cannibalism.

Don't let's be silly.

Of course not.

I don't believe people who eat meat are all bad/immoral/evil.

Lions/wolves eating meat for their SURVIVAL is different from humans CHOOSING to eat meat. We have tons of alternatives and we're capable of surviving on a vegan diet. Large cats will die without meat. I'm not saying it's wrong to choose to eat meat. I'm just saying that your comparison is not fair.

Eating vegetarian is just as natural and healthy as eating meat.

I don't see what's healthy and natural about stuffing loads of animals into crowded conditions. Or pumping them with antibiotics because this is the only way to keep them "healthy" in those conditions." And very few people actually kill animals nowadays. They eat them in vast quantities but they don't actually want to know how the meat got on their plate.

On the survival front, what about less developed areas where hunting is the a main source of food? In rural areas on the United States and definitely in third world areas, people cannot make weekly trips to the grocery store. Is it okay for those people to eat meat? Even if they raise their own chickens in coops?

Every time people ask questions like this, I really have to question their intelligence. Lions and wolves are carnivores, which means they NEED to eat meat in order for survival. There is no such thing as a human who needs to eat meat in order to survive.

vegan :D

Lions and wolves are carnivores, and need to kill/eat other animals for SURVIVAL.

No human is going to die from not being able to eat their steaks and hamburgers.

The answer is obvious. Lions and wolves cannot survive without eating meat, that's why they don't need any tools to help them kill or tear the raw meat they consume.

It isnt healthy for humans to eat meat.

Lions and wolves need to eat meat to survive, humans dont.

No! They don't factory farm!

No, people that eat meat are civilized. Meat is part of the human diet. Animals killing another animal is different because animals need to eat meat. Animals dont kill other animals just because, they do it for a reason. And the reason is If i dont find some food to eat I will not survive. Its as natured intended them too. Humans have a wider variety of diet but we need meat too. Its wrong for people to kill animals for recreartion which alot of people do and is wrong. Unless there is an overpopulated amount then it is necessary to control population and we have that right. Should people and other species be looked down onto because we eat meat? Of course not thats just stupid. Example: One of the most popular meats is chicken.. Chickens out number people like 1-3 or 1-4 something like that.. its okay to eat them because #1) it is not immoral #2) reduce population. I dont hate vegeterians, I just dont like the ones that look at you and are like ''youre eating that?'' ''do you know where that food comes from'' or ''do you know what that chicken had to go through?''
