Vegetarian THINKING about going Pescetarian! STOP ME?! No biased answers, please.?!

Question: Vegetarian THINKING about going Pescetarian! STOP ME?! No biased answers, please.?
So, I've been a vegetarian for 2 years now and I'm honestly just tired of it. So lately I've been thinking about going pescetarian, since I really don't care about fish the way I care about pigs, cows, chickens, etc..I know that sounds horrible, but it's just the way I feel. What should I do? I kinda feel guitly.

Stop you? Why? It's YOUR decision.

Vegetarian since birth

Why are you tired of it? Try eating new things.

Think about why you care about pigs, cows, chickens, etc. It probably isn't because they are warm-blooded or because they breathe air, right? Fish have emotions. They can think and learn. They feel pain. They develop social relationships with other fish. Basically, they aren't as unlike land animals as you think. Do a little bit of research and you will probably find that eating fish, rationally, isn't all that different from eating chickens and pigs.

If you truly feel that you should eat or shouldn't eat something, I think you should go with that.

However. . .
I suggest you to question WHY you don't care about fish as much. I don't think it is "just the way you feel." Was it the way you were raised? Do you enjoy the taste, and your subconscious tells you that it is okay if you like the taste? Have you not researched as much about fish farms as you have other animal farms? Really, only you can answer that.

Vegan.

During my first two years of being vegetarian, I struggled with seafood/fish cravings especially in the Wintertime because of its fatty content, but believe me. Fish is not as good as you think it is going to be. No matter how much butter or lemon you put on it, you can't get rid of that rank smell and taste. Fish have a full spectrum of emotions that pigs, cows, and chickens have. If you don't believe me, get an Aquarium and observe. ;-)

Vegan

What is exactly making you want to go pescetarian? Sure, it is your choice, but there has to be a reason behind this. When I went from vegan to lacto-ovo vegetarian I did it because I didn't have enough variety in my diet. I ate too much of the same thing, and when you're a vegetarian/vegan that can be a problem. But now I'm trying to go vegan again (again...) so I'm trying to add more variety in my diet.. Maybe that could help you too. If you go vegetarian and eat too much of the same stuff, chances are you'll get sick of it...

you know, its a contradiction to ask peopel to stop you doing something but do so unbiasedly ;-P
but ehe *shurgs*

if you wanna eat fish, eat fish, its your life, your diet, and your choice
if you dont, dont, but honestly, putting the responsbility of your choice onother people isnt fair on them, or you

it may sound horrible, but if its how you feel, then its how you feel, not much can be done about that
;-)

I know how you feel. I was vegan for a while and as much as I wanted to go back (I love cheese so much) I had this feeling that I couldn't go back and if I did I should be embarrassed and ashamed The fact of the matter is, it's your body and you can do what you want. Even if you start eating seafood, you're still cutting out a large portion of animal products so you're doing much more than the average person. If you wanna eat fish, go for it, it's pretty healthy too! Oh and by the way, you get over the guilt in about a week once you realize how much you miss that food haha

As long as you take it easy - if you switch your diet suddenly I'll bet you won't be feeling too good, it's alright. Be sure to research what you're eating, farmed fish or fresh fish, because the level of mercury these days is pretty bad (only in some fish!) Also researching what you're eating will tell you about the life of the fish, etc. which might cut out some of that guilt.

Good luck!

My wife has been feeling the same way lately and she has been a veg for many years. I wouldn't mind eating a piece of fish every now and then if i thought i could behave myself but i know i cant, i'd be in the d@mn bbq ribs by the end of the week. I am a vegetarian meat-aholic :( Its not like you cant always change back if you don't like it or it ends up making you feel you need to. Good luck.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!
It is your life and decision but fish hav
e feelings and familys to and they SUFFOCATE! wich is worse than piggys and cows (I do love them though and they go through pain) if you do buy free salmon not farmed (it's like an under water factory farm)

Veg for two years

Do what you want.

But if you're vegetarian because you care about the animals, try to keep in mind that fishies have just as much feeling as any other animal, and they contribute to the planet in their own way.

It's okay, pescetarianism is very healthy. But you have to ease your way into it or you'll get sick because your body is not used to any kind of meat.

Fish are just as important as other animals, but perhaps you just need to try some new vegetarian foods to reawaken your palette?

Den't dew ett! Fish R cuter than h*ll, especially the ones with the bulbous eyeballz... ><3

Vegan.

So just eat the fish!
You say yourself you're "tired" of the diet you're on.
So change it!

It's your life live it the way you want. Don't put your self under any lable.

Eat what you want. I do and don't apologize to anyone for it.

eat what you crave you shouldn't be judged for it.

No biased answers? You are either going to get Vegetarians saying "no don't do it" or omnivores that don't care if you do eat fish.

Personally, I'm an omnivore, and I say eat what you want. But I think your reasoning is kind of off, but its your reasoning so w/e. It does kind of prove the point that vegetarians only care about the cute animals.

If you feel really guilty just get humanely raised fish.
