Need a brownie recipe that's egg and butter free?!

Question: Need a brownie recipe that's egg and butter free?
I am craving brownies. Have most of the ingredients... except no eggs, no butter (really need to make a trip to the grocery store...). I do, however, have lots of applesauce, which I heard can be used as a healthy substitute for fat.

Anybody have a vegan brownie recipe that they love and would like to share? Thank you!

When I dont feel like making a mess or am in a hurry I use boxed brownie mix - just check the ingredients because some have powdered milk (i think betty crocker does)

I then replace the butter with Earth Balance and each egg with 1/4 cup applesauce (per egg).

Delicious and easy!

You could try black bean brownies. I made these as a dessert for Thanksgiving and they went over well.

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 cups raw sugar
1 1/4 cup cocoa
4 tsp instant coffee powder
1 1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts

1 15 oz can black beans, rinsed and filled with new water
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup of water

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together the flour with the salt and baking powder. For a nice layered presentation in a jar start with half the sugar, then add half the flour mixture, all the cocoa, the coffee powder, the remaining flour, the remaining sugar, and the nuts on top. When ready to bake, dump out the jar into a mixing bowl and stir to combine all the dry ingredients.

Drain a can of black beans and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Return the black beans back to the can and fill with water. Puree the beans and water. Add the puree to the dry mix along with the vanilla and extra cup of water. Stir to combine.

Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, rotating the pan around halfway through. When the brownies are finished they should be firm in the center and the edges will be slightly puffy and starting to pull away from the sides.

You can also make an easy batch by getting a box of brownie mix. Replace the eggs and oil with the black beans (15 oz can) .

* Open the can of black beans, rinse really well. Put the beans back in the can, add enough water to cover beans.
* Put in blender or food processor and puree. Add puree to brownie mix, and then bake according to package directions.

applesauce can be used as a substitute but so can plenty of other things, here is a site that shows how to substitute eggs:

as for the butter, I use earth balance, most vegans will use a butter substitute so I am not sure If there is really going to be much help for you with that unfortunately! Who knows, maybe someone else can help with the butter!

Mmm... I'm a raw vegan, and I love raw-vegan brownies! They're even full of nutrion!

What you need:
-Date fruits
-Raw (or not, if you can't find raw, I assume you yourself are not a raw vegan) cocao powder
-And an option is to add nuts, walnuts, cashews, and pecans go great!

All you need to do is blend the dates and cocao powder (and nuts if you want them) and then press them into a pan. Set them into the freezer, and they will still be chewy when you take them out in an hour or more! :) (takes only 30 mins for them to get "cooked" for me)
