Vegetarian trying to gain weight?!

Question: Vegetarian trying to gain weight?
I am 93.8 pounds with all my clothes on right now, and I want to get to 105 pounds. I hate being teased for how skinny I am. I am 15 and 5'4". How would I look at 105??

You will want to increase your protein (for more exercise) and carb intake. It is important to make sure to eat enough of the right foods, focus on high quality whole grains and beans. Do NOT just eat fatty processed foods to gain weight. You will gain weight but you will likely feel drowsy and be unhealthy.

Try to increase your caloric intake, do a little strength training (not fat burning style - but cardio and lifting weights will increase your muscle mass).

Also, try to eat healthy fats with a lot of mono and poly unsaturated fat - it is essential for good health and your hair/skin/nails.

Hit the weights. Muscle weights more than twice as much as fat.

Anyway, you are a teenager and still growing. Most people sprout up in their teens and get taller long before they widen out and grow hips, shoulders, etc. Five years from now will have evened out. Ten years from now, your friends will be jealous of you because they are all flabby with beer bellies and such while you look naturally slim (and hot) without having to put yourself on a diet etc. You are probably at a very normal weight, but when everyone around you is overweight (most N. American teens and people in general are overweight) you might feel you need more fat on your body, but you probably don't. Those people that say, "Oh, you're so skinny!" probably stand in front of the mirror every day saying to themselves that they are fat fat fat (when the probably aren't). Anyway, you are a teen, and who cares what others think. three years from now, you'll all graduate, go your separate ways, and never see one another ever again. Trust me, that's how it goes. All those years of worrying about what your classmates think of you is just a waste, because, as I said, once you graduate, you won't see them again.

well being a vegitarian and gaining weight is tricky but still easily doable, the normal body needs about 2000 calories a day, i suggest to eat more nuts and grains as they have about 500 calories per cup, and if u dont mind taste u could drink some olive oil bodybuilders drink it to gain weight and that has nearly 2000 calories per cup and its healthy!

Stop being a vegetarian then. You don't get enough protein in your system to maintain a good weight. That's why many vegetarians have this problem. Eating meat also won't make you fat at all. I'm 13, eat lots of meat, and I'm only 100 pounds

You might just have a very high metabolism and there is not much you can do. When I was your age I was 5'2" and weighed 80 lbs no matter how much I ate.

Because you are only 15, it will happen naturally over the next few years.
