Questions for anyone who eats a macrobiotic, vegetarian, or any other healthy diet?!

Question: Questions for anyone who eats a macrobiotic, vegetarian, or any other healthy diet?
-Was it hard to stop eating processed foods?
-How long have you followed this diet?
-Is it more expensive to eat this way?

I really want to change my eating habits while I'm young (I'm 19). I want to eat as cleanly and purely as possible, even if it means growing my own garden. How can I go about getting unhooked from fast food and this "fake" food that the grocery store is filled with?

Answers:

-Yes, very hard. Since I'm vegan, you have to stay away from milk or any other animal produced food :( Bye bye Cheerios.. Its hard, but you'll get used to it. But. There are actually some kinds of "milk" that a vegan can eat.
-I've followed this diet for 3 years now :D
-Well, its actually cheaper for me. You eat less meat, which limits you to less :3
:D and yeah, thats a good idea for starting young. I suggest you start off by eating less meat, or whatever you want to stay away from; little by little each day. And if you're tempted, you should wear wear this rubberband and just pull it to get your mind off of it :)

organic veggies, do not let yourself eat fast food, its hard but bring a snack with you in case you might get hungry so you aren't tempted to just drive through. Tell your friends your plans and have them hold you to it. After about a week or two you should feel much better. Honestly if I ate fastfood now I would probably throw up. I've been a vegan for a month and veg for 2 years. It is hard but there are alternatives for everything, however... they can be processed, your best bet is natural veggies legumes fruits etc! good luck!

i'm vegan and super healthy, my mom does body building competitions and my dad runs 4 marathons a year, so I have grown up knowing processed foods are crap!

I am vegetarian.
-Yes, it was.
-About 3 years & a half.
-I think it is, here in Mexico not a lot of organic & vegan products are available. I think growing your own garden is the healthiest, I am keen to do that!
