Am I Still Considered A Vegetarian?!

Question: Am I Still Considered A Vegetarian?
I never eat meat.
but its not because i feel bad eating an animal, i think thats okay.
its just the way the animals are treated i refuse to support those slaughter houses.

I never eat meat, red or pork or whatever.
HOWEVER
i still eat eggs, and such stuff like that.

and if my dad goes to the sea and catches a few fish, i will eat that because i know the fish lived a happy life and it died to feed me, not to be mass produced.

is that still a vegetarian?

Answers:

No. A fish is a living being not yours to eat. Your logic is very selfish. "That body died to feed me because I feel like I am better than the fish so I can do as I please." Then you went on too assume the fish had a great life because poppa went out and put a hook through them and took them out of their home just so you can eat somebody else.

You have to wonder what gives you the right to take somebody's life and why that right isn't extended to serial killers, rapist-murderers and horrible people like that. A living being is a living being and if killing one is wrong than killing any is wrong.

Vegan because animals are not property

A vegetarian does not consume animal flesh.

Fish is meat. It's a type of meat that comes from the ocean.

Just like Chicken is referred to as "white meat" or "dark meat" even though it is listed as poultry.

You are a pescetarian, which is a type of omnivore.

However, you could easily become a vegetarian by eliminating fish and consuming imitation meat products instead. Asian markets sell mock fish.

You can also get veggie burgers, imitation chicken, vegan deli slices, vegan riblets, and other vegetarian products at a whole food store/health food store or at a big chain supermarket like Pathmark, Stop & Shop, Shop Rite, Foodtown, etc. Boca, Morningstar Farms, Quorn, Worthington, Lightlife, Tofurky, Amy's Kitchen, Annie's Homegrown, Tofutti, Veggie Patch, and Boca are vegetarian companies that make great meat alternatives.

Burgerking sells a BK Veggie burger that comes from Morningstar Farms.

Good luck to you, and it's good to hear you don't like the way animals are treated for food.

Vegetarian

You are Pescatarian not vegetarian. I'm sure the fish didn't volunteer and by the nature of things if given a choice would rather continuing being a fish not a meal. I'm also not sure where the concept of a happy life of a fish comes from unless it is Disney. It literally is a fish eat fish world out there.

If you ate eggs, no fish you are a Ovo Vegetarian. If you drank milk also you are a lacto-ovo Vegetarian. Eating fish? You are a Pescatarian.

This is a good question. A run of the mill vegetarian does not eat any living animal, so if you eat fish, you're definitely not a vegetarian, more of a conscientious eater, especially if you only eat cage free eggs.

I'm actually more of a conscientious eater myself. I will eat wild caught fish, but not farmed fish, and only eat cage free eggs and organic milk. I don't eat fish that's been over fished to the point of destroying the population, such as Chilean Sea bass. We need a new label, though I have to say "Conscientious eater" has a ring to it...

You are considered Pescatarian. A Pescatarian is someone who eats seafood meats. "Pesca" means fish.
Vegetarian is no MEAT
A person who eats eggs, but no meat is a Ovo-Vegetarian. "Ovo" means egg.
A person who eats dairy, but no meat is a Lacto-Vegetarian. "Lacto" means dairy.
A person who does not eat eggs, dairy, or meat is a LactoOvoVegetarian.

Used to be Pescatarian.

You are not vegetarian. Vegetarians eat absolutely NO animal body parts (flesh, tendons, bones, etc). This includes things like gelatin and a certain red dye that comes from a species of beetle.

Vegans eat NO animal derived products which includes cheese, dairy, and taurine found in energy drinks, among other things!

However it sounds like when you do eat meat, it is with a conscious, healthy attitude :)

vegan

I feel that a little lamb lived a happy life then died to feed me. I feel the same away about pork, beef, chickens, turkeys, rabbits et a. They all lived happy lives until they ended up on my plate.

You're trying to buck the food chain here. Every creature on earth is food for something else. Always has been always will be. That's nature as much as it may sicken you.

However I see nothing any more humane in shoving a hook through a fishes mouth and then letting it slowly suffocate to death, than the quick work of an abatoir. If anything, it's worse

Your question is very hypocritical.

Anyway you're not a vegitarian you're just a hippy.

What is such stuff like that? If you mean chicken, turkey, rabbit, etc. then no, you just don't eat pork & cow.
If you don't eat any animal but fish you're a pescetarian.
If you don't eat fish & consume milk products you're a lactovegetarian, if you consume eggs ovovegetarian, or ovolactovegetarian.

I would say you are a pescetarian. Or however it's spelled.
It means you don't eat red meat, pork, or chicken, but you will eat fish.
Take out the fish and you're vegetarian, by definition.
But the eggs really have nothing to do with meat. Yes, they did come from a chicken, but no, no fetus was killed or whatever. The eggs weren't fertilized. So that doesn't really matter. Vegans won't eat it though.

When you don't eat meat or fish you are a vegetarian.
When you don't eat eggs/dairy and meat/fish products you are a vegan.
When you don't eat meat but you do eat fish, you are a pescetarian.

Technically, no. Vegetarians don't eat animals, including fish.
You can eat eggs and dairy, but no meat. You would be considered vegetarian if you didn't eat the fish.

Well which is it you have just stated that you ate meat so how can you in a matter of moments say you have never ate meat!!

Your confused and need a reality check!!

Omnivore that cares where she sources her food!!

A fish still has a face like a cow, lamb, pig and so on. I am a vegan i drink soya milk dairy free spread and always look for on labels in case of animal fats also i don't wear leather and fur!

If you eat fish, even fish that your dad catches, no. Even if they are killed 'humanely' they still don't want to die. That's why when you reel them in, they struggle.

You're not a vegetarian, but you are a pescetarian.

No. Vegetarians don't eat animal flesh. Fish are animals. If you eat fish, you are not a vegetarian.

vegan

If you dont eat eggs (or milk, chesse or any other product from an animal) then your a vegan.
If you dont eat meat but eat fish then your a pesketarian

no you are not a vegetarian you are a Pescetarian

Pescetarian for 2 months and a half

id o the same thing eating eggs is still vegetarian only vegans dont but vegies do because the egg isnt fertalized but eating fish makes you pescetarian like me!

Because you occasionally eat fish, you would be considered a pescatarian.

No.
Eggs are ok. Fish are still animals, and it would still be a happy fish if you had fed on an omlette not its flesh.

No you're not. Vegetarians dont eat fish.

Yes, vegetarians can eat fish. But then again, who cares what you label yourself, just eat what you want and enjoy life.

yes thats still a vegitarien because fish doent get harmful chemicals injected in them to be more bigger or whatever their just caught and killed..
