I was raised in a family who didn't care about nutrition at all.
I went vegetarian when I was 12. It really wasn't that hard. You just have to be willing to try new foods and learn how to cook.

Don't confuse the terms "vegetarian" and "vegan", it's two different things. Simplest definition is vegetarians don't eat meat, and vegans don't eat products of animal origin in any form. None of them wears leather, many don't use products tested on animals.

Most vegetarians/vegans I know at some point of their life stopped consuming animal products, usually in their late teens. It's little hard at first 'cause you have to get used to checking everything you eat, asking for special food always... some had to learn to cook because their mothers wouldn't support their choices... But it's not incredibly hard, people do it all the time.

I know only one vegetarian that never ate meat - he claims he hated it since he was a kind, never liked eating it.

Making the transition to vegetarianism was actually a fun transition because I knew that because of my actions, the world, the animals, and my body would all benefit from this diet. I've been a vegetarian for about 9 months now and I am making the transition into veganism. It can't happen instantly because I still live at home and I don't have full control over what I put into my body. I refrain from eating meat at all costs.

No, I became vegetarian (not full vegan) just recently. I don't eat any type of meat obviously, and i don't eat anything with gelatin or eggs. I don't drink straight milk, though ill have an occasional dairy product. (cake, cookie, etc.) It wasn't at all hard for me, I just stopped eating meat one day.

I'm not a vegan, just a vegetarian. I became a vegetarian in middle school. It was a difficult transition at first, but it's been pretty easy once I got used to it. Becoming an adult and having more control over my food choices certainly made things a lot easier.

Well, for vegetarianism it was a very easy transition. It took about a week, and that was it.
Veganism is another story.. It's been a year, and I'm still trying to transition into veganism. One day..

I adopted it at 13. It was kind of hard at first.
