I'm a junior in college and I'd like to become a mostly raw food-ist vegan.?!

Question: I'm a junior in college and I'd like to become a mostly raw food-ist vegan.?
I'm eating vegan.
I'm slightly overweight (in a size 14 jeans, but i have a large build as well)
I would love to eat mostly raw and loose weight, but mostly just be really healthy.
Eating raw tends to be a lot more expensive so I was curious on how I could do a mostly raw vegan diet on a tight budget.
I live by a farmers market and a whole foods.

If i start eating raw would I require less food, etc?

Thanks. =)

it really depends on how you eat now, your life style, since you have a larger built i would be careful, people who have a larger build tend to need a little bit more protein than those with a small build. and it isn't like being a raw vegan will fill you up quicker, it just depends on what you are eating. you are more likely to get more nutrition from your meals. which would allow you to eat less, but if you don't have enough protein, you will most likely end up eating more. a raw vegans diet it hard to manage, so if you decide to do this diet. consider these things first.
1). if your not a vegan or a vegetarian what do you think you will still be able to eat?
- a raw vegan cant have anything cooked, most meals we have have been cooked in some way. (steamed veggies, roasted almonds etc.)
2). how do you think your body would react to the sudden change of diet?
- what we do effects our bodies very much.
3). whats your life style?
if you have an active life style, a stressful time, or a lazy life style, how can this diet can interferer?
there are other questions but you understand the point, also, when i first became a vegetarian, i gained 25 pounds because i was lacking the nutrition that my body needed. i lost all that weight, but it was hard and i sometimes still struggle (mainly when i am on long trips). so the results may not be to your expectations. and keep your body build in mind if this diet is for loosing weight.

In my experience, you will need MORE food to be a raw vegan. You simply have to eat more food if you are eating food that is lower in calories. A plate of broccoli, for example, has only a couple hundred calories. But certainly, plenty of people eat raw vegan diets on a budget.
Start with a good book or two: http://www.overstock.com/Books-Movies-Mu…

Eating raw and whole foods will not be more expensive--it is the pre-packaged and convienience vegetarian/vegan items that are more expensive, like fake meat and dairy substitutes. And You can see, per pound, whole veggies are less expensive than meats and cheeses.

Beans or lentils go for about 70 cents a pound, as opposed to meat which is priced much higher. (ground beef is 3.00 I think. And Chicken breast is roughly 2.50 per pound.)You will find that by replacing your previous purchases with whole foods, the cost will be about the same, or cheaper.

Not to be offensive, but how are you overweight if you are vegan? Are you eating processed foods and junk foods? Try to cook your own meals and rely only on canned beans and canned tomatoes and frozen veggies instead of processed/packaged meals. This will help you lose weight and probably drop your grocery bill as well.
