I don't even like the taste of meat. I don't need it for my health. I just eat it because I hate cows.

Meat is bad
1. Our intestines are too long to digest meat quickly enough. (the length of our intestine compared to body size is comparable to most herbivores, while carnivores like wolves and omnivores like dogs have far shorter intestinal tracks)
2. Our intestines aren't "smooth" like a carnivore, which means our food is slowed down, designed to take time and get nutrients out of plant matter. Therefore, while we "can" eat meat, just like we "can" smoke cigarettes, and have throughout our history, there are toxicity issues (especially pancreas issues) related to small amounts of meat getting stuck in these little bumps in our digestive system, and the meat quite literally rotting inside us.
3. While carnivores have acidic saliva designed to help digesting meat, herbivores and humans have alkaline saliva, designed to predigest plant material.
4. Carnivores have no issues (cats, wolves, snakes) with cholesterol. In fact, high cholesterol diets are great for Carnivores (and omnivores)... But humans have a problem with the cholesterol found in meat, which causes heart disease and has been linked to quite a few types of cancer.
5. Stomach Acidity: Carnivore's stomachs are more acidic than herbivores and humans, meaning humans can't digest meat in the way (quickly) it's meant to be digested.

Meat is Good
1. It is easy. It's far easier to stop at McDonalds and pick up a burger than to prepare yourself a Boca (veggie) Burger.
2. It is tradition. Recent (last couple hundred years) family traditions are centered around eating meat. I believe it's based off of caveman Animism. In our ancient religion, Animism, humans would (cave drawings) emulate fierce animals they encountered in the wild. Seeing them eat meat, they created a tradition around eating meat and supposedly, received vitality. (especially for men) Of course, with vegetarian athletes like Prince Fielder doing quite well, it is clear this was more a matter of superstition than being rational.

There's no reason meat is bad for a normal, healthy person.

Reason 1: You need vitamin B12. It's not found in any plant source. So if you don't eat meat or other animal products like dairy or eggs, you'll need to take pills, get shots, or eat highly processed foods "fortified" with vitamin B12.

Reason 2: Last year Prevention magazine encouraged people to eat more red meat in the winter because it's high in zinc. Zinc is useful in preventing colds....and cold sores.

bad
high in fat
kills animals
expensive
uses more plants to produce

good:
tastes good
high in protein
