What foods have a lot of fiber? It's for a child that needs it but won't eat the benefiber stuff?!

apples, popcorn
Whole grains like popcorn, 100% whole grain pasta, 100% whole grain bread, etc. When choosing these, look at the ingredients list and make sure some sort of whole grain is listed first. And what kid is going to say no to popcorn? Just make sure it's not too buttery. And everyone loves a good dish of spaghetti and meatballs. :) And in sandwiches, no one cares if the bread is whole grain.
Fruits (WHOLE fruits, not juices!) and vegetables also have a lot of fiber. You could always make a healthy fruit smoothie or make sandwiches like peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Provide some hummus (or peanut butter) and chop up veggies into sticks and your kids will eat them (hummus is healthy anyway and the fat lets them absorb other nutrients better).
One of the primary sources of natural dietary fiber so important to health can be found in beans. Yes, beans. The humble little dry bean. Whether it's pinto beans, black beans, great northerns or lentils (a bean cousin) they are all great sources of fiber and, with a grain (tortilla, bread, rice, maize) make an complete protein as well. The little legumes are also full of trace minerals necessary for good health.
Beans lend themselves to a wide variety of recipes to make them palatable for kids. You might check our website which is devoted to beans and only beans. Hi, any fruit and vegetables, porridge, potatoes, grains such as rice and couscous, grain products like brown bread, legumes such as beans, dried fruit like dates are all high in fiber.
Dried fruit is a great way to get kids to eat more fiber, since it's sweet and tasty and they won't even know it's good for them! Dried dates are my personal favorite but there are so many types of dried fruit that you're sure to find some that he/she will like.
