Why is a question about tuna doing in the vegetarian section I wonder if it was a mistake? Anyway IDK bc I am a vegetarian and don't buy it, but my husband does. He likes the tuna in water, but I am guessing the tuna in oil has more protein bc of the oil.
It is the flesh of a living animal, a Tuna. It all has about the same amount of protein, about 8 grams per ounce. It also comes from our oceans, meaning it has about 50 micrograms per gram. Meaning eating one can of tuna has more mercury in it then you should have in a day. Give that to a tean age child and you can overdose them on enough mercury for a week.
Even if you are not a vegetarian I would stay away from things caught from the ocean as well as ocean farms. At the very least eat them at best once a month. And keep them away from children.
Tuna is natural. Every gram of tuna has come from a wild fish. It is not manufactured and so the protein is judged by the fish, not the brand.
But on average, the typical protein values will be found on either side of the tin. Have a look when you go shopping.
