Tofu is definitely healthy. It's low fat, low carbs, and high in protein and calcium.
Try some veggie "meatballs" from Veggie Patch and Boca's soy crumbles. You can find these products at a health food store or a big chain supermarket like Pathmark, Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, or Foodtown.
Those are good with pasta and chilli, too.

There are better tasting beans that are cheaper and easier to fix. Tofu tastes really nasty. Takes a lot of seasoning to cover the taste. Beans of all types as well as peas and corn, nuts, fruit and berries are all, healthy. Add some green leafy and roots beets and carrots. A big mac and order of fries one or two times a months. A big slice of pecan pie with a scoop of ice cream, make almost anything taste good.
It is made out of soybeans which are really healthy for you. Its much better for you than meat, although it doesn't have nearly as much protein.
