Are these suitable for vegans?!


Question: Are these suitable for vegans?
The Walkers steak and onion crisps, me n my dad are argueing over it, they contain:
ppotatos
sunflower oil
steak and onion seasoniing (it says its suitable for vegetarians)
dried onion
dried parsley
salt
glucose
sugar
barley malt extract
paprika extract
hydrolysed soy protein

I wouldn't trust it. I don't know what the seasoning is. There's a good chance it is dairy-derived.



Definitely NOT refined sugar. Animal bones are often used in the refinement process to produce that "white" look. Living in Canada, I substitute maple syrup. You may find other local products, vegetable-based sweeteners, which are produced by farmers near you that can adequately substitute. Remember to try to "buy local"! :)



Suitable for vegetarian, but not vegan. Google "Walker's steak and onion crisps" and "vegan" ... there is message board with a discussion on this. The ingredients might have changed since 2009 though, I don't know.



Hmm... I think so. I've heard that Walkers crisps are suitable for vegetarians, but I've also heard that they contain animal stuff too. To be on the safe side, I don't think a vegan would want to eat them. :d
