Am I not getting all of my required nutrients and vitamins as a vegetarian?!

Question: Am I not getting all of my required nutrients and vitamins as a vegetarian?
Its been a little over 4 months since I've eaten meat, chicken and fish. I sometimes eat eggs but I wish to cut that out of my diet as well. I just wish to get advice from experienced vegetarians as to what I should eat in order to get the same amount of required nutrients and vitamins that I would get if I ate meat, chicken or fish. Thank you.

You don't need to take vitamins on a vegetarian diet.

I've never taken any vitamins, and I've been a vegetarian since birth.

Being a vegetarian you need to work harder to get all of your required vitamins. My doctor recommended that I start taking vitamins. The ones I take a Centrum Complete and they do a wonder. Also, if you are a girl you need to make sure you are getting plenty of iron, which can be found in spinach and other leafy greens. Try to stay away from the junk food as much as possible and eat fruits and veggies as snacks because they have many natural vitamins in them to keep you strong and healthy. Also, try to stay away from soda and other carbonated drinks as much as possible. Try drinking herbal teas and plenty of water.

Hope this helped =D

Personal Experience -- I have been a vegetarian for the past 4 years.

If you're really worried about Taurine you can find it in supplement form, but thinking that you NEED to eat meat and other animal products is ludicrous.
I am answering someone who just said she HAD TO stop being a veggie........
Now back to you: don't worry, just eat sensibly like a healthy veggie/vegan (no junk or white sugar or coke or silly sugary food and drink)...there is more protein in the vegetable world than in animal food. Nuts, seeds soya products, soya milk, wholemeal rice,etc...............you'll be ok!
And,of course,plenty or vegetables,salads,potatoes,root vegetables............
The world is yours! Good health!

Been a veggie/vegan all my life

You risk missing out on taurine also.
Taurine is made by our bodies while we are young, but often not as we age.
A vegetarian for 20 years I had to go back to eating meat and fish for the health of both my eyes and heart which were taurine deprived.
Good luck
