Think of a Vin Diagram. All vegans are vegetarians but not all vegetarians are vegans.

No.
Vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, poultry, or fish.
A vegan is a person who does not eat the above, nor do they eat milk, eggs, or any dairy products. (Ice cream, butter, etc.) Also boycotting all products (Shampoos, nail-polish, etc.) that test on animals, as well as products that are made from animal bi-products such as (fur-coats, chap-stick [unless marked vegan], etc.)

What you might be thinking of is Vegans are often referred to as strict vegetarians. This means they have more restricted diet as outlined by some of the posts. However a Vegetarian is not referred to as anything but Vegetarian [one who does not eat meat/fish/poultry/seafood or other products of a living creature's death] There are as stated types of Vegetarian: Ovo, Lacto, Ovo-Lacto, Apian [honey] and strict. Apian can be combined with the first three but rarely/if ever with the last. It isn't generally accepted on a strict Vegetarian diet. It's much easier to use Agave Nectar in place of it in all the diets.

No.
Lacto-vegetarian: Doesn't eat meat or eggs but eats dairy.
Ovo-vegetarian: Doesn't eat meat or dairy but eats eggs.
Lacto-ovo-vegetarian: Doesn't eat meat but eats both dairy and eggs.
A vegan doesn't eat meat and excludes all animal products [ Dairy, eggs, honey, leather, silk, wool, etc.]

Yes and no. Vegetarians don't eat meat, so all vegans are vegetarians by definition. Vegans take it a little further because in addition to not eating meat, they also exclude dairy, eggs and honey and seek to avoid using animals and items made from animals.

vegan

Hell no.

Vegetarians don't eat meat, poultry or fish but have dairy and eggs.

Vegans don't eat ANYTHING that came from an animal or ANYTHING that has any animal products in it. That includes honey too.

No not really. A vegan doesn't consume/wear any animal products while a vegetarian doesn't eat meat but can drink milk products

Nope a friend of mine thats a vegan told me once that vegan basically doesnt eat anything with a face

No. Vegans don't eat any animal product and vegetarians just won't eat flesh.

Not necessarily, tiff. Some veterinarians still eat eggs and cheese, but vegans will not eat any animal products at all.
