It depends on what veggie burgers you are eating. If you're eating Morning Star or Boca, then yes, it's bad, since those veggie burgers are highly processed soy. Any food that's highly processed is not healthy for you.

A very healthy and tasty alternative to highly processed soy burgers is Amy's California veggie burger ( http://www.amyskitchen.com/products/cate… ).

Another very healthy and tasty alternative to highly processed soy burgers is to make your own veggie burgers. The link below has a few recipes:

Vegetarian since birth

It depends which ones.

If you're eating two 1/4 lb Morningstar veggie burgers then yes, it's unhealthy.

If you're eating a regular sized veggie burger, no, as long as you aren't frying it.

Make your veggie burgers in the oven or microwave them.

The Boca Vegan burgers, however, are so low in fat(0.5 g per serving) that you can fry them and they'll still be healthy.

Morningstar Griller's vegan burgers are the best!

Mix up your diet with some nuts, cashews, beans, tofu, pasta, and whole wheat.

And try some worthington products. Their leanies(vegetarian hotdogs), vegetarian holiday dinner roast, and their veggie steak are good.

No, it's not unhealthy.

But I would recommend trying to ween off of processed foods (like those burgers with long ingredient lists). Try getting protein from more whole food options, like beans and nuts. Also, beans and nuts are less expensive than buying veggie burgers.

A side note--some people claim that foods with processed soy cause estrogen levels to spike. I'm not sure if this is true, but I still want you to be aware in case it is. So, again, try and avoid processed foods whenever possible.

Vegan

It's very likely that this is a bad dietary habit as these are processed foods containing lots of sodium

eg MorningStar Farms? Grillers? 1/4 Pounder contains 490mg sodium and 2g saturated fat in one patty

Bocca All American Flame Grilled = 380mg sodium, 1.5g saturated fat

This sort of thing should be a treat, maybe once or twice per week tops. Try and eat as much fresh fruit and vegies as possible, otherwise you miss out on the health benefits of your diet like reduced risk of some diet related cancers

No, they are about 100-170 calories each depending on the brand and type, so that's not unhealthy at all. They are made of soy and vegetables, which are good for you. I see no problem eating 2 a day. It's more healthy than eating, say, a sausage patty for breakfast and a piece of chicken for dinner.

Not at all. Vegetarians need to get lots of protein and boca and morningstar products are a good source. Eating 2 burgers a day is not bad as long as you balance it with other veggies and plenty of water. =)

Personal Experience -- Im a vegetarian =D

Every day? I think that could be a problem. If you're a normal healthy person, I don't think soy in moderation will hurt you. But you should not make it the center of your diet.

The state of Illinois started feeding prisoners in their jail system soy instead of meat and made some inmates sick. They have filed a lawsuit:

From the link:
"Soy-enhanced chili mac, turkey patties with soy, soy-studded country gravy, soy-blend hot dogs, soy-spiked sloppy joes, Polish sausages packed with soy, soy chicken patties.

These aren't items from the latest vegetarian diet, but rather dishes served over a week at Danville Correctional Center, according to a recent menu.

They're also the basis of a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court this summer by nine plaintiffs who allege that the Illinois Department of Corrections is endangering the health of the inmates -- especially those with allergies, sensitivities and existing gastrointestinal and thyroid problems -- by serving them too much soy."

the answer to ur question is yes

No, so long as youre getting enough exercise and variation in foods that you eat.
VegHeads need plenty of variation in their diets to gain vitamins, so don't think thats all you can eat.

It depends if they are fried or baked. Baked is okay, but fried is something that would be better to have once a week or so. It is still not all that great to have 2 veggie burgers a day though.

if it is from burger king.. YES there is sooo much calories they put into there veggie burgers but if u make it urself out the freezer then that should be bad for you
