if you are a vegan how do you get your essential fats and protein?!

Question: If you are a vegan how do you get your essential fats and protein?
I mean if you refuse to eat meat and all animal products, do you ever feel you will never live up to your true physical potential in size or height?

I'm an obese vegan.
Believe me, fat isn't a problem on a vegan diet.

Neither is protein.

You need to do some research into nutrition.

science is reductionist. There's no mystical essence in meat that gives us the ability to grow big and strong.

There are only carbs, fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytochemicals, antioxidants and fiber. That's about it.

None of those things can't be found in other sources outside of meat except for perhaps b-12 (but that's what multivitamins are for). True it's harder to get enough calcium if you're a vegan but it's not impossible. There's no other things vegans can't get from their diet and they grow up to be just as healthy as meat eaters because they're getting all the same nutrients that meat and dairy eaters are getting as well. When you eat meat, the body doesn't put the meat onto your frame. It breaks the meat down into its amino acid components and then uses those components as the building blocks to build it's own human muscle out of them. So when a vegan eats tofu or beans and rice, they are getting protein that is broken down into amino acids and rebuilt into human muscle in just the same way. No need for animal products. People make a big deal out of meat and act like its necessary to health just because of their attachment to eating it. They like the taste and would rather believe its essential to health so they can enjoy it without feeling like they're unnecessarily participating in the killing of animals.

At least that's the way I see it.

Hi, no i never feel I won't live up to my true physical potential in size or height bc the nutrients in vegan foods, like calcium, is easier absorbed than dairy derived calciums. Besides, dairy causes an increase in breakouts or acne and unnecessary fat.
For *good fats* I eat avocado, olives (black and green), cook things with and in olive oil (at least once a day), and different variety of nuts (anything from your common peanut to cashews).
For protein I opt for brown rice instead of white rice, if I can find it, beans (anything from limas to black), tofu, vegan milks, and giant baked sweet potatoes which are hearty plain, just the way they are. I never worry about protein bc we don't need as much as the DRA says we do, who were probably manipulated by the meat industry along the way. I do make sure, though that I get equal carbs and equal protein so that my energy is stable and consistent and also to get a complete protein is a carb (grain) + a bean or nut.

Vegan

By eating vegetables and seeds. Flaxseed oil contains high amounts of the omega fatty acids that some people get from fish.

Beans and nuts contain plenty of protein. Soybeans are extremely protein-dense.

While there are certainly some people with eating disorders who call themselves vegan and don't eat a balanced diet, any vegan with at least half a brain can easily get more than enough of every essential fat and protein. That may be too high a bar for some people.

Weight is irrelevant to whether a person is vegan or an omnivore and is more dependent on food intake and energy output. Height is really more gene-related than anything.

"Essential fats" is something I've never heard of. I get fats from foods quite easily and I'm actually considered overweight. I get enough protein by eating beans, grains, and nuts, tempeh, etc.

Very easily. And I stopped growing before I became vegetarian, so this is the tallest I'm ever going to be.. and anyway, why do people place such importance on height? I'm 5'3 and fine with that.

You eat nuts. And seeds. One shouldn't have any problem reaching their full size if one follows a proper vegan diet and gets all of their nutrients.
