Do Vegetarian eat eggs?!

Question: Do Vegetarian eat eggs?
Seriously, I've been a Vegetarian all my life, Never had meat or eggs but now uh ever since I gotten into body building and i'm trying to get abs and i've heard that boiled eggs are really really good for you?

So can Vegetarians eat eggs? Would you eat it if you were in my position? I mean I really really want my 8 pack abs really bad!

Answers:

yes, they're good for you and for this one time I don't see that it could hurt.

You would be closely considered vegan if you don't eat eggs. Vegans don't eat ANY animal products but vegetarians consider unfertilized eggs as viable protein supplements. Vegetarians agree to eating animal products but not actual meat protein (red meat, poultry, fish, etc). If I were you and I'd never eaten eggs ever in my life, I'd consult a physician about the matter. Introducing that form of protein can be really drastic to your digestive system and can possibly upset your stomach greatly. I know this because (I'm sure you've encountered this in your lifetime by having such a strict diet your whole life) every time I accidentally eat something with meat or seafood in it I get a rather vile upset stomach. If you plan on introducing eggs as protein to your diet and you can't afford to visit the doctor, do so in a VERY slow manner. Bringing too much of a "foreign" food into your system can really be detrimental to your body.

I've been vegetarian for 6 years now :]

Yes vegetarians eat eggs and milk, though milk isn't good for you, non vegetarian cheese is horrid, it's made with animal renit aka an enzyme in the lining of a baby animal, unfortunately this is most cheeses. Laughing cow is a great non animal cheese producer

Vegetarians come in many flavors. Most of the vegetarians in the US are ovo-lacto vegetarians and eat eggs and dairy products. So you can still be a vegetarian and have eggs.

I believe its a personal choice based on the reasons you became a vegetarian in the first place. I am a vegetarian and I eat eggs due to their high protein content. (protein is a main factor in building muscle)

Some do, some don't. I don't see why it would be necessary to eat eggs for body building; there are other sources of protein.

Vegetarian since 1984, married to a dietitian

Some vegetarians eat meat and/or eggs. They're called ovo-lacto-vegetarians. (Ovo for egg, lacto for milk).

Me, I'm an ovo-lacto-meato-bacono-vegetarian. 8^)

Eggs or cheese might help you.

Yes, most vegetarians eat eggs, and they're considered ovo vegetarians (or lacto-ovo vegetarians if they also eat dairy).

Lacto-ovo vegetarian since birth

I am a vegetarian and i dont eat egg. But egg is mixed in so many of our food which we dont know. I eat it when its mexed and not visible. Egg is also good for health. So you can eat it.

We eat free range organic eggs not from factory farms
Vegans dont eat eggs, dairy or animal carceses vegetarians don't eat animal carceses but eat dairy and eggs

merry Christmas so all my fellow vegetarians and vegans!

A vegetarian might. A vegan definitely wouldn't. Just a matter of how fascist you want to be about it.

Go on and eat an egg. You know you want to.

Yes. Vegans don't eat ANYTHING from animals. But Vegetarians can. They just don't eat meat. Vegans... Are a whole different story...:)
