How can I trick a vegetarian into eating meat so they can see they're not a real vegetarian?!

Question: How can I trick a vegetarian into eating meat so they can see they're not a real vegetarian?
ok I asked this question before but I didn't explain well enough. My daughter is a vegetarian now because she saw some crap about baby cows getting killed or something. However she will eat fish because they're not cute like baby cows are. I want to show her that she's not a real vegetarian before I smack her because she is being a stupid teenager and just wants to have a cause or something.

First of all, any parent who tries to trick their kids into doing anything is not fit to be a parent. Second of all you're daughter is not a vegetarian if she eats fish because fish IS meat. Just because they're not "cute like baby cows" does not mean they are not animals. So you can just tell her that if she wants to be a vegetarian she can't eat fish.
If you try tricking her into eating anything, she won't trust you anymore. Is that what you want?
If you tried to slip a religious jew pork to prove they're not jewish, is that right? If you tried to slip meat to a buddhist or hindu to prove they're not vegetarian, is that right? Perhaps you should actually think about your actions instead of being ignorant.

If she's been tricked into eating meat, then she is still a real vegetarian, because she is not CHOOSING to eat meat - you have deceived her into doing so, which is a lousy trick to play on anyone, especially someone whom you should love. She has the right to choose not to eat meat if she wishes, and if you're not happy about it, you can always ask her to prepare her own meals. You do NOT have the right to make such life-choices for her: it is abuse. And before you ask, I'm an omnivore, but i respect the right of others to choose otherwise.

She's not a vegetarian. She's a pescetarian.

Cook some awful meat and tell her it's Morningstar or Boca brand fake meats. She won't know the difference and, look, you've won.

This is as pointless as veg*ns trying to fool meat eaters by cooking fake meats. Get over it. Tell her if she wants to be vegetarian, she can get a job, buy her own food, cook it and clean up.

Or give her some respect and talk to her about taking the cooking responsibilities for a couple of days a week to make a meal that includes fish. She shouldn't put all the responsibility on you just because she thinks it's ok to kill fish, but not cows.

And you might take time to read this link and point out to her that animals die so she can have her rice, pasta, and green beans, too. Why is it ok to kill baby bunnies in the fields, but not cows?

"I want to show her she's not a rea vegetarian before I smack her"
Wow. Ok, that's grown up for sure.

She's a pescetarian, tell her that. A pescetarian is a person who only eats fish, fish have been proven to have no pain cencors in them, so its not dreadful to eat them. Let her make her own choices, she's a teenager. If she doesn't learn to make choices now, then she won't survive the real world when she grows up. So let her try it.
I feel bad for her if this is really how you want to treat her. It should be anyones choice what they put into their body by teen years.

I'm reading your question and all the while hoping it is a joke.

I'm assuming you are serious though and will answer you in like manner.

Firstly, your daughter is not a vegetarian if she eats fish. Fish is meat.

Secondly, many 'quasi vegetarians' eat fish not because they're not cute, but because the meat is healthier than beef, pork or chicken.

I really think that it would be best to let your daughter determine her own diet providing she is getting sufficient nutrients. Usually vegetarians live longer and their diet is healthier than non vegetarians. Just make sure she includes plenty of legumes such as lentils and chickpeas.

Best of luck.

p.s. you're idea of 'tricking' disturbs me.

So you want your daughter to be unhealthy? Wow, great parenting! Why don't you support this great choice that she's made??

But seriously, your daughter is not a vegetarian, she is a pescetarian (only eats fish). Perhaps you can just correct her terminology and be happy that your daughter has chosen a healthy diet.

Fish are animals too & as long as she eats any animal she is not a vegetarian. Just show her the definition of vegetarian & if she has a brain she will realize that eating any animal including fish means that she is not vegetarian. If she just wants a "special" word to label herself as she can call herself a pescetarian.

first of all, you should really respect your daughters choices, if she want to be a vegetarian then so be it, she's a teenage and experimenting with herself, i'm not sure why you are not happy with your daughter being a veggie. Last of all, it's not exactly a disease that you are born with, so if she decides that being a vegetarian is not for her, then she will give up.
But in answer to you question... buy free ranged meet and tell her that they have had a happy life, and have been in a sunny field and not cooped up (probably like the cows were that she saw on the tv). if that doesn't work, just let her be.
(and, ps, dont smack her?)

Guys, you should check out Calvin's other questions. Either he/she is a concerned parent, a young delusional teenage girl who has recently been dumped (and the boyfriend killed in a weird accident) and a confused commentator on love and body image or he/she/it is two or three different people. Sometimes he/she is almost literate and sometimes he/she can barely spell or express him/herself. He/she is definitely a bizarre troll. Don't waste too much time giving out your well thought-out advice.

Take her to a restaurant. Most restaurants cut corners in the vegetarian food becuase it's true that they get their jollies in watching a vegetarian tuck into their vegetarian soup that has chicken stock in it. It is common as anything. Although I don't agree with what happens, it happens for sure. It is less frequent in Michelin places but I've seen it there too.

Vegetarians are only safe if they eat in vegetarian restaurants.

Um..how the heck is tricking her into eating meat going to prove anything...that's just stupid. That's like tricking a hindu into eating beef to prove they aren't hindu??!!! Dumbest ish I ever heard. There are different types of vegitarians. Some don't eat land mammals but will eat fish and dairy products like eegs and butter. There's nothing wrong with her!

Wow. Did you make this question up as you went along? There are many holes in your question and you just reek of ignorance. Before asking a question, real or fake, look for things like contradictions. I could tell them to you, but I will not. This way you will not compromise and disrespect your daughter's beliefs... At least, with my help.

tricking her into eating meat will just enforce the thuggish image that she may have of meat eaters who think its funny to eat baby cows.
If you're a parent and you can't be compassionate and the bigger man in this equation I feel really sorry for her.

What's the big deal if she doesn't want to eat meat? Fish is healthier anyway. At least she didn't join the let's get high club or something. You should be proud that she wants to make a stand for something positive.

Do you want your daughter to love and respect you, or do you want to drive a wedge between the two of you and have her thinking you're a complete d**khead like most of us do?

Respect her choice and fish is healthier

Me

It probably wont affect her that much what she decides to eat. The bigger problem is being related to a moron like you!

If this is serious - You're an awful father. You should be supporting your child.

You have some very good answers here, but I would just like to add that I hope you are joking about smacking her!!! (Are you really serious?)

Ann

Out fishin are ya? Just "spank" her. Is that the answer you are looking for?

I'd suggest serving up a rather badly cooked meal of lentils or something, been there, I know what your saying

fool if u eat fish ur not a vegetarian!

which of you is the kid?
