Help with Silken Tofu?!

Question: Help with Silken Tofu?
I decided to go healthier so I'm adding tofu into my diet and am having some trouble with a breakfast smoothie. I read that I could use silken tofu instead of yogurt to add more nutrients and protein. My question is this, do I have to press out the water from silken tofu? I hope you can help, Thanks.

Answers:

No, just drain it. Silken tofu has the texture of a banana.

If you mean the water in the oblong tub, then just dump it out- you're only supposed to use the actual tofu part.

Silken tofu is so soft anyway, if you picked it up it'll slide through your fingers. The water shows how unfresh it is- fresh tofu is nice and dry- they store it in water for weeks. However, if' thats OK by you, just se the tofu, and not the water......
If you want to press the actual tofu block, go ahead, using a cutting board wieghed down with a few books, don't overload it, and press it down overnight at an angle, so the water drains off- but I don't think this is what oyu mean,

what is silken tofu?

No, You just drain it out of the container
