What do you think about the "animal rights" group PETA?!

Question: What do you think about the "animal rights" group PETA?
I personally don't like them. I think they make their own videos and they just have people pay them for nothing. What do you think about PETA?

Answers:

Lol Peta is not an "animal rights" group. How about money making scam group to be ore accurate?

PEA's strategy is to pick certain companies and practice what is essentially "corporate extortion" wherein they will stage "campaigns" and protest action until the company pays them money. Case in point, PETA supposedly opposes the use of animals in circuses. However, one PETA corporate "sponsor" has an affiliate who owns a circus. The result? PETA deletes that specific circus from it's protest list.

PETA does make real videos. The animals they depict were really killed and maimed but by PETA "activist" members.themselves. common PETA strategy is to let some of its members to join "offensive" industries, commit the crimes PETA says these companies commit and videotape the "evidence". Note that in most PETA videos, the actual "criminals" are not named (the videos are not even time stamped nor specific locations identified). Why not? Because if arrested, they can be identified as PETA employees or members. (or members of ALF, a group that has been identified by the FBI as a domestic terrorist group. PETA and ALF often share officers and employees. PETA has contributed thousands to ALF's "campaigns".including $75,000 to confessed and convicted ALF arsonist, Rodney Coronado)

What clear evidence there is is that PETA was found to have "euthanized" almost all of the animals supposedly left in their care. One distressed pet owner who had to give up hs animal for financial reasons testified that he was assured by PETA that they would do their best to find a good home for his pet only to find out later that his pet was already killed even before he left the premises. PETA made the pathetic excuse that the animals were of poor health and near death. However, pictures taken by police and state authorities showed healthy animals including a dog that just gave birth to puppies all of whom were killed by PETA employees, placed in a garbage bag and put in a dumpster. (pictures and the story here http://www.nokillnow.com)

PETA members and their employees also prowl forums like this and make sure that the propaganda lines are maintained and their beloved leader and group are protected from people like you.

The videos PETA makes is from REAL footage... they dont stage those scenes, they actually happen and its horrific. Oh and pay them for nothing? The donations they get goes to investigation and rescue. It also goes to campaigning of companies that test on or abuse animals. Do you know how many designers, companies and facilities have stopped testing on or killing animals for their products because of the PETA campaigns, or how many people have stopped eating meat after watching just one of their videos?

PETA is an amazing organization and is the biggest force in stopping cruelty to animals, whether you like it or not.

They should be outlawed.
They're a bunch of money-hungry hypocrites who will do/say anything at all to PRETEND to advance their cause.

For example... they think domesticated animals have rights, and should not be 'owned' -- hence, they put up shelters and took in cats and dogs, supposedly to rehome.... then EUTHANIZED them because they were "better off dead than owned".

They advocate destroying other people's property -- gum in people's fur coats, spray paint, etc.... How does that help animals??? The animals that made those coats are DEAD. They can't be helped, and now the people who did that kind of thing can be ARRESTED for damaging someone else's property.

They threaten people -- PETA sent several ice skaters threatening letters in the recent past (ie the last 2 years), because they were planning to use costumes that included fur. THREATENED THEM.

They are freaks, just like the pro-lifers in my opinion, who think that anyone who doesn't share their view, ought not to have one.

I'm vegan and I despise Peta.

I'll repeat what said in answer to a very similar question on here a few hours ago - if had to pick out just three things I most despise about them, I'd say their disgraceful response to the Greyhound bus murder a couple of years ago, their sexism and the exploitation of women in their propaganda, and the hypocrisy of two of their leaders who, dependent on dialy use of animal-tested and -derived insulin for their own survival, seek to deny other people the same access to animal-tested life-saving drugs

They've converted countless people to vegeterianism and veganism,
rescued countless animals for horrific cruelty,
and spayed and neutered countless more at little or no cost to their owners.

They're more of an animal welfare group.
I'm more solidly behind actual animal rights groups like the ALF and others.

I'm not a fan of them. I don't deny they do some good work, but that is all too often overshadowed by their publicity-hounding. They sometimes seem to be more about shock tactics than activism. I don't appreciate the sexism inherent in some of the stuff they do. Trying to get a town named Fishkill to rename itself Fishsave (never mind that the "kill" in this regard is Dutch for river or stream) or Hamburg to call itself Veggieburg; or trying to convince the Pet Shop Boys to rename themselves Rescue Shelter Boys is just silly and doesn't do a thing to help the animals.

I think there are plenty of pro-veg groups with much better messages out there, and I support them first.

I think the work the do is brilliant, alot of my friends have stopped eating meat, after watching those movies. I have cut out all read meat. I think in a very small way it has a impact on our planet.

What they show is so real, i did a study on it last year, its really sad and very gross the things that happen in an abattoir, that we don't even think about when we put food in our mouths.

But each to his/her own...If you have an opinion about PETA that's totally ok.

Why does is bother you?

the user EXSFT is so right on his comments on PETA,they are just another extortionist group using violence an dirty tactics to extract money from big companies and from the innocent.

unfortunately people are blind and weak to see their true colours.

Just a bunch of stupid extremist vegans. They like to convince people to believe in their bull **** by being overly aggressive and exagerating what actually happens.

peta= nut jobs

or

peta= people eating tasty animals.

i agree with you
but i do not know whether i am right

PETA is a good group.

They're not perfect, but the more groups you have to help animals the better.

PETA does not make their own videos.

They hire people to go into the slaughterhouses and record how the farmers and slaughterhouse workers treat their animals.

Vegetarian

Dumbass , people should pay more attention to PETA . How does it make you feel when people are slaughtering your family ? FURIOUS right ? PETA don't have any money , they need donations to help save the animals . Who said they're asking for money for nothing -.-
