what percent of the British is vegetarian?!

Question: What percent of the British is vegetarian?
and how has this figure changed in the last few years?

Answers:

5-7%

I don't see current figures. In 2003 it was apparently about 2 million people. The figures are all skewed because of the mad cow outbreak and then foot and mouth disease they had there a few years ago. That drove a lot of people to vegetarianism. But most of them have reverted to eating meat. A Gallup shows the lowest % since 1990.

Definitely more than the American percentage. I would say more than 5%.
And to everyone saying there are no British vegetarians, London is the most vegetarian friendly city in the world, so there is obviously a good amount of vegetarians.
