Is Total cereal healthy for a vegetarian?!

Question: Is Total cereal healthy for a vegetarian?
My mother picked a few boxes of this cereal up. It tastes excellent. I've got the raisin one with whole wheat flakes. The nutritional value is excellent, except the carbs are a little high for a cereal... but it is whole-grain =)

Is this cereal any good for you? For me, it's either this for breakfast, or just two slices of whole-wheat toast or maybe Special K Protein Plus.

Answers:

Total is fortified, but it is far from being terrible for you. I'm thinking of trying Total once I'm done with "Honey Bunches of Oats." Fortification is done to some whole grain breads because vitamins can be lost during the milling process. It's better than nothing.

Total sounds more balanced than the whole wheat toast and Special K Protein Plus. I am not a fan of Special K bars. I like Luna Bars better :-)

American Heros is a retard.

High fructose corn syrup isn't any worse for you than regular sugar. Yes, fructose is very bad for you in large amounts. Fructose messes with your insulin, throws off your blood sugar, increases your risk of diabetes, and causes you to gain weight.

But MOST high fructose corn syrup is HFCS 42. It contains 42% fructose and 58% glucose.

Now table sugar is sucrose. Sucrose = 1 molecule of fructose bound to 1 molecule of glucose. That's 50% 50%

The sucrose is then broken down into fructose and glucose in your body. You'll see that HFCS is 42% fructose, and table sugar is 50% fructose. Table sugar is actually worse for you than most HFCS

Now HFCS 55 does exist, but it's mostly used in sodas, and it's only a little bit worse than table sugar. But it's not in your cereal, it's only in extremely sweet things.

it is good for you because it contains nutritious ingredients such as wheat, vitamins C and E,and iron.

NO. Its not ORGANIC. IF YOU READ THE LABLE IT WILL SAYH "HIGH FRUTCOSE CORN SYRUP" TOTAL IS NOT HEALTHY

buy organic cereal

one of the main vitamins that vegetarians should look for in food is B12 and almost all cereal has that. so yeah yours is healthy.
