Meat haters, I love to hunt for meat, but I don't do it for fun, I always eat it? Your thoughts?!

Question: Meat haters, I love to hunt for meat, but I don't do it for fun, I always eat it? Your thoughts?
Like I really really really love the taste of meat. Nothing is better than biting into a nice juicy cooked steak, mmmm. I don't think I could survive without meat. I simply love it, but why hate me for it? Its not like I kill animals for fun, I do it for the meat. Just as many animals do which as we all know, you love animals so much. Do you hate animals that kill other animals for food to eat? Thanks !

Answers:

You don't like to eat meat because it taste good. You like to eat meat, because your brain is trying to encourage you to eat it, by perceiving it as "tasting good", much like how it perceives things that are bad for you to taste horrid (rotten milk, poison, inedible food sources).

You could probably survive without it, whether or not you'd be health(ier) is irrelevant to this topic.

Kill and eat all the meat you want. Unlike those silly vegetarians, we think with our well developed brains, not primitive emotions. We have every reason to eat meat, and none of it has to do with imaginary concepts like ethics, emotions, or morality.

---------------------------------------…
Let's pay some attention to Colleen, she's super fun!

" A male lion kills the offspring of any other males when he takes over a pride, but does that mean a human male is allowed to kill the existing children of his new wife or girlfriend? Of course not."

- Of course not, because that's illegal. Again, appealing to emotions. Just because it makes you feel bad doesn't mean it's objectively wrong. By the way, the example is completely different. Lions have adaptive purposes for infanticide, humans don't. Humans have an adaptive purpose for eating meat.

"With that being said, hunting for food is the lesser of two evils but I still hate it. Going into an animals natural habitat and shooting it with a weapon it is naturally unable to survive or try and get away from is terrorism. Hunting season spikes the amount of car accidents involving deer because they flee out of their natural habitat and into ours for escape."

- "evil" is an imaginary concept. How about vegetation? Do you really think that they're using all this energy to grow so that you can tear it from its' foundation and covert it to fecal matter? Probably not. Are you going to say that because it doesn't resemble you and your behavior, it doesn't have the same rights? That's right, you exploit life for your own survival...so do humans. By the way..what chance do plants have over your knifes?

"Although a deer had a chance to live out its natural life free of confinement crates and hormone injections, you are still taking its life when it has no possible way of escape or to fight back. As I said, the lesser of two evils."

- That's what you call evolutionary advantages...when your prey have no way of escaping. If they did, you aren't properly adapted and you die. Again appealing to imaginary concepts like evil.

You're too easy!

I think the problem people have with the meat industry is the manner in which animals are brought up, kept in, and slaughtered.
As humans, with the way our brains have been evolutionary wired, it seems that we should be more 'humane' with living feed we use. We're not. We, as a global society, pray to 'the dollar almighty'.
Pay as little as possible to get the end product. The juicy steak you love.

Normally, people wouldn't hate you for killing an animal for the meat. However, many would have a problem if you don't feel any remorse for having to kill a living, social, and feeling thing for other reasons.

Just so you know, it's strange that you say that you 'love to hunt for meat' but somehow feel that you 'don't do it for fun'. If you love doing it, there is fun in it for you.

Yes, many hate you for hunting. Collen, deer don't flee from their natural setting because of hunters. I have been deer hunting for 29 years. Deer season is during their mating season. Male deer chase female deer during this period and that's why they are roaming around so much this time of year. Deer hunting does the opposite of what you say, hunting keeps deer number lower so there are Less car/deer accidents. And the deer can and do get away many times.

And why should he STFU about animals eating animals? Its a fact, they do. He is talking about eating, not mating, or a lions natural instinct to provide his genes in the pride of lions. Eating and mating are two totally different things but you like to try to make a correlation between the two to make an ignorant point.

I think meat can be part of a healthy diet, but should not be the main component, that's all. Everything in moderation I suppose. Personally, I don't really care for red meat, but if you want to eat it yourself, go for it! I am strongly opposed to "sport hunting" or hunting just for the fun of it. I think that you should eat whatever you kill. If you're going to shoot it, you'd better eat it. That's the way I was raised, and it's always followed me through life. I guess it goes back towards my opposition to waste too. I don't like seeing people waste unnecessarily when there are so many other people in the world living on nothing. But anyways... that's my little rant for the day.

To sum up: you eating meat = fine; you hunting for meat = fine; sport-hunting = awful!

Not at all.

The reason I'm Vegan is because I don't hunt (I couldn't stand taking a life) and I hate the way "factory farms" and slaughterhouses treat animals. There are more humane & quicker ways to get kill animals, why make them suffer? I would rather get shot then skinned alive or put in boiling water while still alive, personally. As long as you shoot the animals, their death is quick and they didn't suffer, and you eat the most you can, then no, I don't have an issue with it at all.

I really have no place to say since i eat meat and I buy it from grocery stores, but i have alot of respect for a person who can go out there, shoot down his prey take it home and clean/gut it and do all that. Not to mention it is alot less crueler and healthier. I think if anything, you helping animals alot more. Sure it sucks that the animal has to die, but at least it lived a life out in the wild, eating natural foods and wasn't abused in a small little factory shed for its entire life.

First of all, animals kill other animals for SURVIVAL and because they are meant to be carnivores, so don't compare them to yourself please! You are just ignorant to the suffering of other beings aren't you? I actually feel sorry for you to be honest because you have no idea how evil you sound. Do you think it makes you a tough guy to kill an animal? I would love to see how tough you would be when you are being torn apart by a lion who wants to eat YOU for dinner.

i don't hate you for eating meat, i don't even know you! i think it's foolish when some vegetarians hate meat-eaters, because we once ate meat too! i just think it's a wrong choice for myself, but it's your life, do whatever you choose! i just don't agree with it.

As long as you, or someone else eats what they take, I have no problem with it.
Its not up to me to tell another person what is or is not right, that is up to you.
I have a problem with certain people not giving me the same respect

I don't hate you for it.
I hate you for your corporal greed and bad breath.

DEMON!

Jimmy, as I have stated before to other people: STFU about the animals eat other animals argument. I will use the same example I have before: A male lion kills the offspring of any other males when he takes over a pride, but does that mean a human male is allowed to kill the existing children of his new wife or girlfriend? Of course not.

With that being said, hunting for food is the lesser of two evils but I still hate it. Going into an animals natural habitat and shooting it with a weapon it is naturally unable to survive or try and get away from is terrorism. Hunting season spikes the amount of car accidents involving deer because they flee out of their natural habitat and into ours for escape.

Although a deer had a chance to live out its natural life free of confinement crates and hormone injections, you are still taking its life when it has no possible way of escape or to fight back. As I said, the lesser of two evils. Hunting is most definitely not a sport also, just putting that out there.

However, if you base your arguments over how palatable meat is to you, expect to not be taken seriously. When your taste buds decide your morals and excuse the disgusting slaughter of animals because they taste good, that is gluttony and moral cowardice to its most extreme.
I believe you do enjoy hunting by the terminology you used in your question, which to me is wrong. Enjoying the death of an innocent creature, be it man or non human animal, is a sign of mental instability and sickness.

I don't hate hunters, I just feel kind of sorry for them because they lack compassion. But I do hate trolls.

I'll be meeting a few hunters this weekend when Victorian duck season opens. Hundreds of protesters go out into the wetlands to scare away the ducks before the shooting begins at dawn. Then we go and collect the injured animals and give them veterinary treatment, we have vets on site who set up a triage tent and they try and save as many lives as they can and euthanise the ones who are beyond saving but would have drowned or died slowly in severe pain. Some of the hunters try and retrieve every duck they shoot but many don't. Plus since there are parks officers on site they don't like to collect the species they have shot illegally, the rare and endangered waterfowl or the non-target species like black swans. They don't want to receive a fine!

If only all the hunters were like you, and they didn't do it for fun but they bothered to go and get the ducks they shoot so they can have the meat.
