If you ordered a sandwich with avocado and the avocado was as hard as an apple, would you send it back?!

I would ask if they had a riper avacado to put on it. If all they had were unripe ones I would just take the avacado off and eat the rest of the sandwitch, and be kinda disappointed but I wouldnt waste the food or ask for a whole different sandwitch.
I would. And any good restaurant will accept the returned item if it does not meet customer expectations or satisfaction.

And to Banned User - humans are OMNIVORES! I understand that might be a difficult fact for some to understand, but people are not carnivores. YOU are in the middle ground as an omnivore. Certainly. If the food is inedible, then why pay for it? Maybe tell your server that the avocado isn't ripe, and politely request another menu item.
I would send it back and if they are rude ask just for my money back to eat elsewhere. If they are nice they probably wont mess with your sandwhich in which case I'd request a new one and if the avocados are not ripe then without.
Well, obviously someone doesn't know what a ripe avocado looks or feel like, so I think it would be for everyone's best interest if I DID send it back.

I wouldn't send it back because that's just asking to get your food spat on or rubbed on someone's @ss. I just wouldn't eat there again.
