Do you have any advice on giving up dairy?!
At the moment I eat loads of dairy:
Milk on my cereal for breakfast
Cheese sandwiches for lunch
Butter on my bread or toast
Sometimes cheese on my pasta for tea
A yoghurt for dessert
Boiled eggs once or twice a week
So, if I cut out dairy I'm not really sure what other foods I can eat instead, so I won't be hungry or have a poor diet? Do you have any healthy breakfast / lunch ideas that dont include dairy? Or any general advice i.e. what do vegans have on their bread, if not butter or cheese?

Spread beans on toast instead of butter(this is great for fiber and protein)or peanut butter or soy nut butter.Nutella is awesome too!
Instead of regular cereal,try a cereal bar instead or oatmeal.On occasions I still eat my cereal dry when I am in a hurry.
Try spaghetti sauce or butternut pured with vegetable stock for a healthier sauce to pasta.
For sandwiches I would go with avocado and meats or grilled tomato on top of meats.It is easy to substitute cheese on a sandwich with anything you like.
There are also lots of dairy free desserts at Trader Joes where I live.Check them out.
Instead of boiled eggs,try egg substitutes,pumpkin pancakes,grits,oats...etc.
You can find lots of vegan products at whole food stores or Trader Joes where I go.Yes most are free of hormones,but keep in mind,some of the stuff is still processed and just because it looks good doesn't mean it is good for you.Though it may contain no hormones it may be high in sodium and other things so read all labels.Buying strictly vegan products can also be pricey.Stick with lean meats,eat raw fruits and veggies when you can to get the best nutrients and try and stay away from processed and starchy foods.Drink plenty of water and some dairy is good.I would stick with the yogurt,go with organic 1 or 2% milk and limit cheese all together for best results.If you still find yourself going for the cheese and milk at least go with low fat or fat free.
I wouldn't give it up. At your age and being female, you need the nutrients it offers so that later on in life you won't get osteoporosis. Milk is a great source of protein as well other vitamins and minerals besides calcium. If anything, you should just switch to low fat milk. Use light butter spread (fake butter) to cut down on fat and cals on you bread, and they make light cheese as well. Do not cut yogurt at all. Just switch to light. Yogurt is very good for you.
You can have cereal with almond milk
Hummus or nut butter sandwiches
Non-dairy spread (like Earth Balance) on your toast, or use a fruit spread.
Nutritional yeast on your pasta
Almond milk ice cream for dessert
Eggs aren't dairy products, but you could substitute an avocado.
There are vegan substitutes for everything. Soy Milk, Almond Milk, Vegan Cheese, ect. I don't eat as many substitutes as most Vegans do, but they are there
My opinion:
I already gave up meat and fish, you can have my cheese when you pry it from my cold dead hands.
I gave up dairy ages ago, I realized I was slightly lactose intolerant and this was a great way of getting rid of the "mysterious" bloating I would get after pretty much every meal.
one suggestion, if you're not friends with beans...do so now. lol.
for breakfast I either have cereal with almond milk I made, or müsli with boiling water poured over it and some fresh sliced fruit (it turns a bit oatmeal-like, I love it), toast with marmalade or just some leftover beans if I have any, also maybe just a nice mixed fruit salad.
for sandwiches, I love making myself some hummus/avocado ones. I add lettuce, tomato and onions to it as well...or some self-made salsa.
for pasta dishes I'm okay with eating them by itself or I just get a bit of chili-oil on it and make it yummy spicy :)
making some easy veggie soups is great too.
I drink only organic dairy with vitamin D. You could try that. You can get the 1% organic milk, so it's watered down a bit and not too overwhelming for your body. Organic milk is free of all preservatives, antibiotics and hormones, and comes from free range cattle. And get this, it usually takes LONGER to go bad so it's well worth the price. It tastes great and you can get it at virtually any grocery store in the USA.
To answer your other question - no vegan products do not have hormones in them. Vegan items exclude any and all animal products such as gelatin, lard, whey, or beeswax. I am not vegan but I am vegetarian and have eaten some tasty vegan cheeses. There are many soy products out there that substitute dairy. They are often harder to find in the grocery store however (sitting in an odd section) and you may have to ask the right person.
Vegetarian
Dairy isn't good for most people! I guess you don't consider most asians, Asian Americans, Africans, African Americans, Sourh Americans, Native American, etc. Most people. it's mainly white people who have the genes that allow them to digest milk past infancy. Studies have found that only semi-nomadic or nomadic population who herd domesticated animals for food renain lavctose persistant. When 75 percent of the world is estimated to be lactose intolerant, I don't think it's "normal" or is part of nature to drink any species, especially not from a smelly, furry, 4-legged animal that communicates saying MOooo!
Plus, there are more than 20 different proteins in cow milk alone that are responsible for a number of problems from maldigestion, which leads to malabsorption and malnutrition, mild to extreme cramps, allergic reaction, flatulence, gloating, diarrhea, etc. The number one cause of death of children in most developing countries is diarrhea. I wouldn't recommend giving them cow milk , even if it was that junk with lactase added in it: Lactaid. Plus, milk is known to carry dangerous pathogens.
These are just a few of the reasons why people should not drink cow milk. The health risks and dangers of drinking outweigh the benefits.
