Here ya go! They taste delicious ! Just like the real meat! Its almost weird but its so cool!
I think that a product called Quorn is definitely the answer. I have been using it for years and most meat eaters can't tell the difference if you use a good recipe. I have a few recipes on my site and I have put the link below. Just to warn you first that there are poems on there too. I mention this because I do not want to get into trouble from the Yahoo people for trying to plug an unrelated site. The recipe section is in the drop down section, so you do not have to read any poems. I hope you find what you are looking for. There is also a recipe for a fab vegetable stew which can be blended to a soup if preferred. It is as tasty as anything with meat in it or more.

You can try what the others suggested but don't be disappointed if he doesn't like them as much as the real thing. He might think they are okay for what they are, vegetables made and shaped to look and taste like meat, but not the same as it would be if they were real.
If you don;t mind making him some meat stuff or he doesn't mind doing take outs, why bother?
From what some vegetarians told me, hotdogs are the closest to the real thing. Quorn is available in the US but you might want to read up on this article first http://www.commondreams.org/newswire/201…
you could make him eggs pancakes and morning star sausage- theyre REALLY good and they taste better than the real thing! sometimes theyre at walmart or hyvee, safeway whereer you go for groceries you can ask and they'll help you find it. also spaghetti maybe, with then morning star hamburger style crumbles they taste super real.
use them on my totally carnivore family lol they couldnt tell the difference :)
Try using the great big Portabella mushrooms in place of meat. They will absorb whatever you put on them, like olive oil, garlic, etc. Experiment with a casserole using Portabellas, onions, garlic, zuccini, red bell pepper, potatoes. Slice everything sort of thin, layer with pepper jack cheese (if you eat cheese) and a marinara sauce. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes. Serve with garlic bread.
Quorn is definitely in the US- check if you have any local Henry's or Whole Foods-I haven't had it, though. My favorite is Tofurky... all their products- sausages, deli slices, roasts- are the best, and they're coming out with pepperoni soon! My second favorite would have to be gardein. They sell it almost anywhere and i know for sure it's at fresh and easy, well..the ones in California at least. Other than that, morningstar farms has alot of great products for vegetarians.
Dream on. The only thing that tastes like meat is meat. You're not going to fool him, though he may be polite and say "mmmm, good." Guys will do some really dumb things to "get" the girl.
Below is a link to a woman who seems to have made it her hobby to try fake meats. She says though it doesn't actually taste like meat, some of it is pretty tasty.

There honestly are none. I'm a meat eater and have tried most types out there, you can always tell. Some come close but the only way I could see them fooling someone would be if they had been a vegetarian for a few years.
quorm is good and it picks up taste of what it marrinated in..i do believe it a fungus there fore your daft laws new zealand and oz stupid laws you may well have a problem getting it
No, because there aren't any.
There are certainly amazing recipes (even some with fake meat) that can taste just as good as real meat, but they still won't taste the same as real meat (because it's NOT real meat).
have you tried the Quorn cottage pie recipe?
its delish

he will be hard pressed not to love it
There are many chinese super markets that sell dishes that would fool even the biggest meat eaters.
Look up SEITAN or SOYA WADI - Textured vegetable or soy protein
I have gotten the meatless meatballs and fooled my fiancee and his brother they also have soy crumbles that look like hamburg, we use them for tacos.
you could substitute ground beef with a vegetable matter from a compost heap. and add in some mushroom juice.
There is none.
the only thing thats tastes like meat is meat
