But be aware that some of the green leafy veggies high in iron also contain oxalates. Oxalates inhibit your body's ability to absorb iron and calcium. See link.

Most adults aim for about 2000 calories a day. If you're an active growing youngster, you may need 2500. You might want to start a food diary or find an online calorie counter and see how many calories you're getting. If you're healthy, your period shouldn't cause these problems. It sounds like you're on the edge of a possible eating disorder? If so, nip it in the bud and start eating more food.

Nuts, beans, certain vegetables, bread, maybe even roti, dosa, pancakes. You can look on Nutrition Data website or Wiki and take a look at the nutrient content that each food haz that you're eating. Look around the supermarket and see what would you prefer to eat, then take a look at the nutrient content. You don't have to start eating broccoli, just find anything appealing such as tofu or vegetables for stir fry.

And you shouldn't overeat yourself. That's the problem with extreme healthy eating or orthorexia nervosa. Peeps read about the nutrient content & the RDI and then start eating a ton of the food to reach that RDI. Just eat until you feel full. You don't have to overeat, you should still get enough nutrients even if you don't reach RDI because for some nutrients, such as vit B9, it's almost impossible to eat so much. Although I am wondering whether it's really iron deficiency.

To be honest there is a decent amount of iron in most cereals. There's also iron in beans, like kidney beans, black beans, soy beans, and I recommend lentils because those are not much like beans as you would expect them to be.Iron is also in greens like Spinach, Broccoli, Asparagus. Nuts also contain Iron. And dried fruits like raisins, apricots, dates and prunes. That's about it that doesn't involve you eating dairy or meat products. Hope This Helped!

Science Project with Adding cereal to water and letting it break down, There's iron on the bottom of the flask. I hope to become a Executive Chef one day so I know alot about foods.

I wouldnt let beauty get in the way of eating a healthy diet, you should consider eating dairy. And iron can be found in leafy greens and raisins. I take suppliments, it helps.
