Why are the meat eaters saying that there are no 100% vegans?!

Question: Why are the meat eaters saying that there are no 100% vegans?
Several times in the last few days I've seen them say that here. Why do they say this? Are they all trolls, or are they that ignorant?
Meat eaters don't need to be here anyway!
I am 100% vegan by the way! I don't kill animals or use animal products!

Answers:

because they are jealous and want to feel better about themselves

We are saying that because it is true. And the problem is not what we say but it's that self delusional vegans like you can't stand it when your holiness is put to question.
How many animals have to die before you can eat? What do you think organic or non organic pesticides are for? Animal cologne? They are poisons designed to kill indiscriminately by the billions. Ingest a large enough dose and even you will die form a pesticide. In fact Zyklon B, the gas uses by the Germans in WW2 to kill the millions of Jews was a pesticide.
Wear cotton and hemp clothes only? Well it's the same thing. Cotton and hemp farmers still kill a large number of animals DELIBERATELY so they can maximize production, maximize profit and have those products available for you to choose.

A vegan diet or a vegan lifestyle, there is no difference. Before any modern day human can eat, live wear anything or live anywhere, an animal must die. Fortunately, many sensible and mature vegans understand that. You to which such statements are directed don't because you are too self absorbed about your own holiness to realize the truth. What's the favorite expression of holier than thou vegans against omnivores? Ah yes, "Ignorance is bliss. That's right, you are so ignorant about life's realities that you get upset when such confronted by such truths that disturb your self delusional bliss.

By the way, Yahoo owns this website not you or anyone else here. They decide who belongs and who does't not you or anyone else. By stating that this should be limited to you and your kind is a de facto violation of Yahoo's policy that this forum should be open to EVERYONE who has a question or an answer regardless of topic. That makes you a "troll" and therefore a person who does not belong "here".

Lol: another cop out convenient excuse from another holier than thou vegan. "Because if a dormouse gets killed when the peas are being harvested and you eat those peas, you neither know or included that dormouse in your conscious choice to not eat animals.
You did not want it to be killed to feed you"
Right. Problem is YOU DO KNOW (and even if you are ignorant knot to know before, you do now) that an animal needs to be killed. Yet you still consciously and deliberately support that industry. That makes you not only a "vegan of convenience" it makes you an absolute hypocrite. Highlighted by the fact that you just posted a question about the video "Earthlings" and how omnivores can still eat meat after knowing about such "cruelty". Yet here you are making sanctimonious excuses for yourself even after knowing that an animal will be killed in order for you to eat. What's the phrase used for the word "hypocrite" Oh yeah: "vegan stove kettle black"

They mean that it isn't possible to avoid animal by-products altogether.

And they're right; where they're wrong is in imagining it's the ultimate Gotcha! that no vegan will be able to wriggle out of.

The definition of vegan, from the man who coined the word, is avoiding all animal products 'as far as possible and practical'.

Most vegans become so in order to minimise their contribution to animal suffering as much as they can. They don't live in a bubble of vegan purity, they live in the real world - they have homes, jobs and families to provide for and many live in towns and cities.

In the situation in which they find themselves, they do what they can. And people who do nothing, but shout 'how can you call yourself vegan when you breathe air, eat food, walk on pavements, take buses?' just show themselves up for the idiots they are.

EDIT: forgot to say: 'the' meat-eaters don't say it, SOME meat-eaters do. There is no reason meat-eaters shouldn't post in this section, and some of them make a useful contribution.

The section headings are topic guidelines, not restrictions on who may post. I regularly post in the Alternative Medicine section, and nobody is more anti-AltMed than I am.

As long as people aren't offensive, there's no reason they shouldn't air their views

There are animal products in places you wouldn't expect them, so it's very difficult to live a life that is 100% independent of animal products. Ignore the people who are trying to bring you down and just keep doing what you think is right for you.

I will say though, that you need to lighten up toward the "meat eaters" - everybody is different, and if you want people to accept you for your dietary choices, you need to be a little more tolerant of theirs. I'm sure you disagree with people's choices to eat meat, but you'll only make them feel defensive, and defensive people will never be swayed.

To all the carnivores out there - you do not need to put people down for making choices that are different than your own. Human beings are omnivores, and we do not need to eat meat to be healthy. Talk to a doctor, talk to a dietician. Feel free to eat your steaks and burgers, but if someone doesn't want to make that same choice, why do you care? Leave the poor kid alone.

Yes, Jessica, you DO use animal products. Animal slaughter byproducts are used in transmission of electricity. Your computer uses electricity so as you set there and type on a computer, you're using animal products. The wooden chair you're setting is probably contains animal glues...another byproduct of animal slaughter. Your school books are held together with animal glues. That's only a couple of the things that YOU use every day that include byproducts of animal slaughter. Check out the link for a veg site that lists a lot more. I know you use some of them.

Not to mention the animals killed in the fields for your diet. Research suggests that 1.2 billion animals are killed every year in the production of the veggies and grains that you eat. You may choose not to eat them, but your diet results in the deaths of animals, just as mine does.

There is no such thing as a 100% vegan.

ADDED: And, no, those deaths in the field are not accidental. Farmers know the baby rabbits are there. You know they're there. If they were human babies, farmers would not be allowed to plant and harvest those fields. Why is it ok to kill baby rabbits, but not a cow?

I'm sure you are not 100% vegan.

I've been vegan almost 11 years & would never say that I'm 100% vegan. There really is no such thing unless *maybe* you live in a hut in the middle of nowhere. Veganism is about avoidng the exploitation of animals as much as possible. If you drive a car or use public transportation, you technically aren't vegan. Hell, even if you walk everywhere, there's a good chance you're stepping on or otherwise killing some insects along your way. Even the produce you buy harms some animals in one way or another.

*You're* the one who's ignorant in this case.

Us (meat eaters) say it because its true.

Trillions of insects die every year from pesticides, and countless other animals like moles, mice, birds, snakes, turtles, and many more die from planting, harvesting, and shipping the very food vegans eat. A death for a diet is a death for a diet. But I guess in your eyes its ok to kill for your diet but its not for mine.

And you also use animal products in you everyday life. Books, roads, cars, and just living in a modern society.

Have a nice day!

Whatever makes you sleep better at night friendofchip. That doesn't change the fact that your actions and diet DOES cause animals to die. Even other vegans that have answered this question admit that there is no such thing as 100% vegan.

Oh and the plum trees where I live ARE sprayed with pesticides which results in insects death.

"meat eaters dont need to be here anyway"

is that so? well, i dont think you have any right to complain about others when you are as judgmental as anyone here. yes, there ARE some things that everyone uses that in some small way have to do with animals. that is all anyone means when they say there is no one that is 100% vegan. whether you believe it or not is your problem, no one elses. how do you expect others to learn about vegetarian or veganism if you think youre even to good to be in the same yahoo answers category with them? ive got news for you. you are as ignorant as you think the people you are talking about are. this category is ABOUT vegetarianism and veganism, not just FOR them. so, if youre not already one you dont have any need to read or try to gather any information? I have NEVER disrespected anyone in here for their personal beliefs, i dont believe in that, unlike yourself apparently. maybe YOU shouldnt be here if you dont like the way things are ran.

Unfortunately, in the world we live in, there is no such thing as being 100% vegan. Things such as insulin, fertilizer, plastics, glass, lamination, photographic film, vitamin capsules (gel coatings), glue for bookmaking and bandaids, automobiles, volleyballs + basketballs, toothbrushes, fabric softeners, chalk, fireworks, anti-freeze, aquarium filters, rubber, matches, etc.
Although you will hear and see childish remarks from individuals, you have to remember they only say this just for the sake of throwing it in our face (like we don't already know). Just remember that we're trying to make a difference in the world... What are they doing? Spreading their hate through the internet.

Don't you stress, doll.

Vegan/Raw Vegan.

Did you know some sunflower seeds contain gelatin? And Morningstar Sausages contain powdered milk and egg whites?

They mean stuff like that.

Btw I mean that sunflower seeds contain added gelatin. And the people above me are right, even glue is made from cow hooves.

Everything is made somewhere down the line from animals.

God made Animals for us to eat :D

You Need to have Meat in your diet.

As usual Deer Hunter gets it wrong.

There are dietary vegans- who choose to not eat any animal products. And I use the word "choose" carefully.
Because if a dormouse gets killed when the peas are being harvested and you eat those peas, you neither know or included that dormouse in your conscious choice to not eat animals.
You did not want it to be killed to feed you.

So, Deer Hunter, as usual, your logic feeds the wrong cause-and-effect. A vegan chooses to NOT support animal death or cruelty to feed themselves.
The same peas could just as easily be harvested with no accidental dormouse slaying. A vegan would be happy about that. But that isn't the point.

Not every harvest kills animals- a plum tree causes no harm, a soybean can be grown without insect death.
Also, none of these insect and dormice are CHAINED, kept and tortured against their will.
In all practicality, if the dormice were to clump together and move upstate where no peas grew , then they're be cool.

But, Deer Hunter , again, you're using a back - handed logic for arguing your silly non point, and trying to make a comparative issue out of unconscious effects vs. conscious choice.

if you are 100% vegan, why are so so worried about meat eaters. I myself am a carnivore and think of veggies as fillers. So eat your veggies, leaves more meat for me,thanks.Don't be eating cheese or drinking milk as the are from critters too.

Amazing! Is that what you want? http://milanstreet.info/5605/animal-product

Using your computer has nothing to do with killing animals? Ha.
Wow.
