I've been vegetarian for more than two years, if I started eat fish would it make me sick?!

Question: I've been vegetarian for more than two years, if I started eat fish would it make me sick?
I'm comfortable with not being vegetarian any more, but I still baulk at the thought of eating mammals so I was thinking of going just pescetarian (a diet with no mammals/birds but including fish). I've heard that when vegetarians go back to eating meat products it can cause stomach upsets and/or vomiting. Would this happen if I started eating fish again?

Thanks!

Answers:

No it won't. A little upset stomach maybe but nothing serious.

No 90% of todys fish does nt contain mercury. Otherwise, the most fish eating societies like Japan and the Mediterraneans and the Pacific Islanders would all be sick of mercury poisoning. They are in fact considered some of the healthiest societies on the planet. That's just typical vegetarian scare tactics propaganda that is not even based on simple logic much less credible fact.

A Pescetarian diet, I suppose is not as bad as going back to eating meat, but why aren't you happy just being a vegetarian?
Is it because you believe you are not getting the right nutrition?
Sorry I'm guessing & trying to understand.
See if links below can help you add more oils, iron & vitamins.
Will you be sick eating fish after all this time?
I think start small & see how it goes, little at a time.
BUT personally I love being vegetarian I'm never going back to eating meat or fish.
Fish are another commodity that man has over sourced, driven to the verge of extinction & caught from an environment that we wouldn't want to live in.
The seas have been used as a rubbish dump, raw sewerage is pumped in relentlessly as the population worldwide has expanded way beyond what the planet can comfortably cope with. Nuclear waste still in the barrels languish on the sea bed...........
sorry I'm probably making it worse.
But don't do it, rethink your veggie diet & leave the fish alone.

Probably. If you introduce it into your diet slowly, that is, not start eating fish by having an entire swordfish but having small amounts on the side, you can re-accustom your body to digesting fish.

Almost 98% of the fish nowadays contain mercury thanks to the poisons and toxics thrown in the seas, rivers...now it is worst due to Japan's nuclear radiations being released on earth....I say seas and fish are 100% contaminated right now...

The vomiting is more of a mental thing than a physical thing. If you would start vomiting it would be because you are mentally grossing yourself out.

More likely you would sleep all day. Not sure why, but it seems that it happens that way to me.

No it would help you.

no fish is healthy
