i am recently becoming a vegetarian and am having a hard time finding foods that don't contain meat. HELP PLEASE!

Answers:

Oatmeal works great for me! I used to eat Kashi cereals, but it was 3-4 dollar a box for about 10 servings, while the oatmeal I get now is 1.99 for 30 servings! And it is super filling! And you can change it up in so many ways!
Dry beans are a cheap, healthy filling food, of course! Lentils and black eyed peas are my favorites, and make a soup with them for a long-lasting, healthy meal.
Pastas and rice will be great
Potatoes are another cheap and filling food. Go for sweet potatoes, too!
Look up what fruits and veggies are in season, and switch up your menu according to what cheapest during what month (I know bananas are cheap pretty much all year round), and you don't have to buy everything organic; fruit with thick skins will be fine, and some veggies too (by the way, I find broccoli to really filling, too). And it's said that frozen is just as healthy as fresh, so don't be afraid to go to the freezer aisle for cheaper fruits and veggies that will last long.

If you'd rather have something from a box that you can cook up, you should stock up on rice pilaf and zataran's red bean (or black bean) and rice. If you like top ramen the dark blue kind is vegetarian it's called oriental flavor. You can get vegetarian canned refried beans. If you want a snack that will make you full look for granola/protein bars like Odwalla bars. There are a lot of different flavors so pick something that you like, they are all healthy and vegan/vegetarian.

Other than that, you should just check out the produce section and grains/beans/cereal section of the grocery store, most of it should be vegan or vegetarian. Don't go for the expensive fake meat that is marketed specifically for vegetarians because those are more expensive and fresh fruits and veggies are a lot healthier for you. Don't be afraid to try new things, especially soy milk and tofu! I used to hate those when I first became a vegetarian, but you just have to try different brands or cook it a way you like it.

Pasta with meat free bolonasge. Always tasty,

stir fly,

Sweet and sour veggies,

A cheap and healthy meal is pasta with any vegetables you like,i like peas, mushrooms, garlic and onions, but you can use any vegetables, and top with a tomato sauce, i use a tin of chopped tomatoes and add herbs, garlic and mustard. Just experiment with basic recepies. I also like jacket potatoes topped with beans or hummus and loads of salad including avocado, olives, cherry tomatoes, red onions and cucumber.

Legumes are very filling and have lots of protein.

I like black beans. You can buy bags of black beans for between 1 and 2 dollars. You need to soak them overnight and then cook them for a fairly long time. I saute onions and garlic and add it to mine with some nice spices.

lentils
chickpeas
pinto beans
fava beans
lima beans
tofu
black/white/red beans- all beans and legumes are CHEAP, very FILLINGand extremely HEALTHY.

take vegetables that you like boil them add boiled potatos, chickpeas, lemon, salt and vinegarAm damn sure this ll make you full.

Beans and rice. Any type of bean/legume has enough protein to fill you up. And try to go for brown or wild rice, not white rice.

It's called a veggie bun.

But you could fry some tofu with the sauce of your choice, then have it with rice and fried vegetables.

beans are high in protein and very cheap and filling.

split-pea soup
