One of my all time favorite meals is a grilled portobello mushroom inside a hamburger bun with some olive oil and maybe mozzerella as well. I also like speghetii with baby bellow and portobello mushroom ravioli.

Here is my family recipe, handed down from my grandmother. Portobello mushrooms have a nice flavor, not too different from other mushrooms.

(recipe for each stuffed portobello mushroom)
1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup of grated gouda cheese
1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
1 lb of bacon
1/4 cup of chopped ham
1/8 cup of ground beef
quarter of a chopped onion
1 tsp chili powder
dash of cumin
pre-mixed cake batter

Take the above ingredients, minus the bacon strips, mushroom, and cake batter, and combine in a large mixing bowl.

Pile this mixture inside of the mushroom/overtop of the mushroom and wrap it with the strips of bacon; the fat from the bacon should help combine the ingredients.

This doesn't need to be done very presentably, as the next step is to coat all of this in cake batter and deep fry it for approximately 6 minutes at a moderate/high temperature.

Portobello mushrooms taste "meaty". They are a great substitute for a burger on the BBQ.
My favourite recipe is to serve one medium large one per person as an appetizer.
I wipe them with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt, remove the stem and save for another recipe.
Put the mushrooms gill side up in a baking pan that has a bit of water in the bottom - about a quarter inch.
Sprinkle the gills with a teaspoon of white wine or sherry each, a teaspoon of butter and 2 Tablespoons of crumbled blue cheese or another interesting cheese - like Guiness infused cheddar or goat cheese.
Bake in a 400Degree F oven for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the mushrooms are hot. Serve with thinly sliced toasted baguettes.

Tossed in oil and grilled, top down without flipping. Let the juices soak back in when you pull it off the grill.

Add some feta and caramelized onions. Maybe jalapeno peppers.

Serve on hamburger buns or sourdough rolls.

Marinate them in white wine, soy sauce, liquid smoke, garlic, and onion powder for thirty minutes. Then grill them and enjoy! =D

Balsamic vinegar and olive oil marinaded grilled mushroom burgers.

make mushroom with green peas & mushroom with chise nice reciepe
