Would you consider caviar suitable for vegetarians?!

Question: Would you consider caviar suitable for vegetarians?
Not that I'm going to rush out and buy some. Some vegetarians eat unfertilised chicken eggs. Caviar is the unfertilised eggs of a sturgeon.

Answers:

apparently some caviar is farmed without killing the fish, but depends on the fish and brand. I don't know whats ok or not. I wouldn't eat it myself.

Basically, vegetarian says it all - you eat just fruit and vegetables. No fish, no meat, no milk - that is nothing moving. Some people think it's too tough and think that fish or milk products don't count. It's only meat that is taboo. If you are one of them - no problem with the caviar then.

That's a good question.
Before reading the description I was like "no, of course not."
But you're right, it is just like eating chicken eggs. Personally, I wouldn't. Mostly because caviar looks gross and for some reason it just doesn't seem right.

Unless Ari is right, the difference between eating chicken eggs, and eating caviar is that you do not have to slaughter the chicken to collect its eggs.

Fish don't lay their eggs though. They are inside the fish, so to get caviar one must kill the fish first. So no, it isn't suitable for vegetarians. I haven't heard anyone say that they actually liked it either.

I do not eat sea food either way so I would personally say no. However some might present the argument it's okay but if the animal is killed in the process I say no. Interesting question indeed.

Vegetarian

ABORTION IS RAPE!! lol j/k Eat it, vegetarian or not theres a ton of absolutely essential minerals/vitamins oils and proteins you just wont get from a can of beans.

Since one of your concerns was animal comfort and safety, why would you eat any kind of eggs?
It''s contaminated food anyway. Gross

Yea,it is nice.
