if we all eat more beef would we be?!

Question: If we all eat more beef would we be?
helping to improve the ozone layer

Answers:

No. The opposite is true.

"A global shift towards a vegan diet is vital to save the world from hunger, fuel poverty and the worst impacts of climate change, a UN report said..." http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/20… :-)

No because the ozone produced by reactions between methane and other atmospheric gasses occurs in the troposphere, where ozone is actually a pollutant. Ozone needs to be in the stratosphere to form the protective layer. Since cows and other ruminants produce far more methane than other species, the fewer cows that are produced to feed humans the better.

No. You eat more cows, they breed more cows. People seem to think there is a finite amount of cows or something...they only breed them because people eat them.

Probably not. When I eat beef I get the nastiest-smelling gas ever. It probably burns through ozone and steel.

No?

I don't see the connection.

(the methane produced by cows wouldnt be any less if we ate more cows)

No anyone who says otherwise is jumping to wild unprovable assumptions

NO. Higher chance of the opposite happening actually.

No, you will help increase the cow farming business. You'd make it worse.

You're kidding, right???

We would all be more prone to heart failure by 40.

no
