What is a word that generalizes or covers Breakfast, Lunch, Supper?!
For example, three meals every day (means breakfast, lunch, supper are all counted as meal)
I just discovered the definition for Meal in OED is not exactly what I thought would be. I am feeling confused. Anyone can help?
When I say breakfast, lunch, and supper, snack doesn't count. I feel lunch, brunch, or supper are a bit more formal than just crackers. Normal plate, bowl, should be involved.
Thank you.

Yeah I guess a snack fits in the true definition of "meal", but the true definition of "snack" does not fit in the definition of breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and is not defined as a "meal" but as a "light meal" or "food taken betwwen meals". So I would say "meal" implies what you are looking for, or how about "complete" meal, or "formal" meal?
"Meal" works just fine. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/m…
When you say "meal" 99% of the population will assume you mean either breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Those definitions pertain to foods such as corn meal or oat meal...
Food!
