Unfortunately, questions about veganism and vegetarianism often attract stupid morons who don't know anything about it. Please ignore and report them.

There are loads of vegans in the world and the majority of them are perfectly healthy - if not healthier than their meat eating co-humans. Study after study proves that a healthy vegan diet is far better for you than a meat and dairy diet.

How it works is that you basically stop eating all animal products. This includes animal flesh (cow, fish, chicken, etc), dairy (milk, cheese, casein, etc), eggs, honey, carmine (red dye), etc. You can choose to do this gradually or cold turkey (no pun intended). As long as you still eat a balanced diet and wash your fruits & veggies well, there is little danger in a vegan diet. Most vegans also choose to avoid fur, leather, silk, wool, cashmere, and other products that come from animals.

A vegetarian diet would be as above, but allowing eggs and dairy. Again, as long as you are eating a well balanced diet, you should be fine.

But remember, well balanced does not mean nothing but cereal and soy milk. Or french fries and ketchup. It means fruits, grains, vegetables, water, etc.

I hope this helps.

I was a Vegan. I really tried to make the diet and lifestyle work for me but I take thyroid medication (due to removal of most of my thyroid years ago) and evident soy products (which the Vegan diet relies on heavily for protein) block the thyroid hormones in the body. My hair fell out by the fist full. I gained a horrible amount of weight. Finally, my doctor made me get off the Vegan diet , changed my thyroid medication and told me to eat meat.

I am much better now and my hair is growing back but I would still prefer to be a vegetarian; it just does not work for my body.

There are a lot of dangers from soy products and also the protein needed for bodies is hard to get in a Vegan diet. Children should not be put on Vegan diets.

Don't do it. Vegans aren't the brightest people . I mean , what do they feed their pets? Cats and dogs are purely carnivorous and no one would be cruel enough to take away their natural diet. How come no one complains when lions take down a zebra? Or a Komodo dragon slowly kill a buffalo with its poison? Plus, its very expensive.

once u think of the animals being killed to EATits not good .vegan is good for u n for animals

I feel fine!

No worries at all! I exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet. I love cooking and my BF loves my cooking too! We eat better than we ever did as meat eaters.

And... I can look an animal in the eyes and KNOW I am doing no harm to them :-) That's the best thing.

I stopped eating fish now. I feel great. I still eat red meat though.

I'm a Vegan and I feel betteer than I ever have.

I feel great.I've always been healthy, even when I ate meat.I feel even healthier now.It has helped me live a healthier lifestyle.I would stay away from the over consumption of soy though.Eat a balanced diet.take a look at this website
