How many of you have considered going vegetarian?!
How many of you have considered going vegetarian?
I'm a meat eater so I'm not being judgemental, but after seeing how poorly animals are treated when slaughtered I've thought about going meat free. How do you guys feel?

There are a number of reasons to become a vegetarian, but there are a few questions you should ask yourself first:
1. Are you looking at becoming a lacto/ovo vegetarian (not eating meat, but still eating eggs, drinking milk, and consuming other animal products such as gelatin, etc), or something more strict, like a vegan (no animal products at all).
2. Are you prepared to eat vegetarian protein substitutes? There are any to choose from, my favorite it seitan (wheat gluten), which is a very good beef substitute.
3. What are your real reasons for becoming a vegetarian? Humanitarian or health?
I would not recommend becoming a vegetarian on the health line. There are too many possible issues that arise. Realize that humans were meant to be omnivorous. We are meant to eat plants and animals. Restricting the intake of either of these groups without proper diet management can cause serious health problems and risks.
This leaves us to look at vegetarianism as an act of conscience. Should this be your choice, I would whole-heartedly recommend it. This is a very hard road to travel, but it is a great one with many internal rewards.
Either way, should you choose this path, I would suggest talking to your doctor/health care provider to make sure that there are no dietary short comings.
I wish you the best of luck,

I refuse to eat chicken after going to a slaughter house with chickens!!!!!! It is so horrible what they do! Im sure 90% of people would not eat chicken if they saw what they do! And I can not eat beef(cow) because my neighbor has slaughtered a few. Lets just say he used a sledge hammer!
I went vegetarian 12 years ago!! I have never went back or regretted it for a second!!
I do it for one month every year to help clean out my system.
You are free to eat what you want, but if man wasn't meant to eat meat, our teeth wouldn't have evolved the way they have.
Never, You know the way you feel will never change the way animals are slaughtered. I grew up around a farm and we always did it the way we thought would be best for the animals.but sometimes it didnt always turn out the way we expected, but that didnt make me want to become a vegetarian.I know that the slaughter houses are bad but they do have regulations they have to go by.
hey there is this community hindu[india]nearly 1 billion atleast 80%of them are vegan u can do it n i'm from india staying in usa i'm a vegan too u can do it
replace meat by proteinslike legumes
n mushrooms, cabbage.broccoli n add more species lemon n herbs it will taste yummy n u'l not miss any thing
I first became a vegetarian of my own free will at the age of five (so my mom would stop giving me that nasty lunch meat, lol!). But after seeing a few documentaries on what they do in the slaughter houses, I don't think I'm ever going back! Don't get me wrong, for a while I did miss my pepperoni and what not, but it's a small price to pay for the well-being of animals and I don't really miss eating meat anymore. I totally encourage you to become a vegetarian! Best wishes!
I've been a vegetarian for 14 years.
I've thought about it. My husband is one. I eat mostly vegetarian meals but I do eat meat several times a week. I think it would be hard but I have considered it. I was practically a vegetarian for about several years when I only ate fish and chicken a few times a year.
I've thought about it several times but I can't turn down a good steak.
