What I did was I first cut out the meats I didn't like (lunch meat and canadian bacon, for me). Easy enough, right? Then I cut out the meats that I kind of liked, but could do without. Then came the hard part -- cutting out the ones that I liked a LOT. This will be a lot easier if you substitute non-meat foods that you like for the meat foods that you usually eat. Try eating cheese pizza instead of pepperoni, microwave lasagna instead of a turkey sandwich for lunch. I LOVE pasta, so eating a lot of pasta helped me take my mind off meat. Try to think of a non-meat food that you love as much as I love pasta. (^_^) You can also move up to cutting out cheese and eggs.

You don't have to buy veggie dogs or veggie burgers if you don't want to, but if you want to try some then by all means, do so!!! I like this type of "sausage" called "Soyrizzo," and OMG IT IS SO GOOD, especially if you like spicy food. Everyone in my family eats it, and they aren't even vegetarian. You can put it on crackers, in chili, or you can pan fry it (that's what my Dad does). Also, morningstar is a good brand. They have veggie burgers called "Chik patties" that are pretty good, and they also have buffalo wings (VERY good, and also spicy) and some other foods. Whenever you try something, just buy maybe one package to see how you like it, and then buy more if you like it. Also (like gabriela said) tofu is really good if you spice it right. I like to use Vege-Sal brand salt on it, and I also put BBQ souce on it! Mmmm...

Hope I helped!

Stop eating meat.

quit cold turkey

People who leave meat, poultry, fish and other animal-derived foods out of their diets--- becomes a vegetarian

just substitute foods that are rich in protein for your meat. try tofu for example. if you spice it right it actually tastes good.
i'm not a vegetarian but i find many good recipes in vegetarian cookbooks. just go to the library. you'll find what you like!

just stop eating meat

Start limiting your intake of meat...cut out red meats, then chicken, then fish, etc. Use tofu or tempeh as a substitute. Drink Soy milk and cook with soy milk rather than real milk. Also you can buy Boca products which are fake meat products. They are really good and less fattening than real meat.
Whole food stores have a large selection of vegetarian foods and you should start to shop at one.
You might want to buy a book on vegetarian recipies that are quick and easy to make.
Also, if you have any vegetarian friends you might want to talk to them more about their transition and how easy it is for them to be a vegetarian.

Stop eating fish. That's what I did. I'm a vegetarian. Well, mostly. I eat chicken. and steaks. Not fish. It always smells fishy. Gross.

Just gradually introiduce yourself to different types of vegetables and cooked in different ways. Gradually reduce your meant intake. Think how the poor animals were rearerd and killed. Think how many diseases you can now get from meat and the additions farmers make to the flesh.

by realizing how many animals die from that and you can have a healthy protein and like to try something new in life

first of all, congratulations for at least considering going vegetarian. i'm not sure of an exact method that will work for everyone, but i'd start by going to websites such as http://www.goveg.com/vegetarian101.asp... for help with finding alternative food & recipes and stuff. next, simply cut out certain types of meat, one by one if you have to, until you don't eat any at all. my sister has stopped eating all meat but chicken and i don't expect her to cut that out but otherwise it has been easy for her to change her diet. you can also look for videos on the peta website to discourage you from eating meat.
