What to do with canned spinach? Any good dishes?!

Question:

What to do with canned spinach? Any good dishes?

I mean, what can you do with that slippery goop? I tried frying it up, with onions and garlic and spices and grated cheese. It was OK, but not very tasty.

I know spinach is super-nutritious, so I would appreciate any fairly simple ideas for what to do with a can of the green goop. Gracias.

Answers:
Throw it out, and get some fresh or frozen spinach.

As a kid, there were some school lunches that you could smell a mile away, and that canned spinach was one of them. I didn't think I liked spinach until I had fresh. That canned school lunch stuff was gross!

spinach dip they re awesome just get some cheese and melt it and mix it with some herbs and spices and mix it with the spinach and served with some baked crutons

You can put it over chicken with melted cheese; chicken florentine. You can put it over fish. For breakfast, toast an english muffin, heat the spinach and put it over the english muffin, then put a poached egg on top of it, you can even add a piece of canadian bacon to it.

I love this recipe.... very tasty!

SPINACH DIP

1 (8 oz.) container light sour cream
1 cup light mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. dill weed
1/4 tsp. onion salt
1/4 cup chopped green onions
2 cans (14 oz. each) leaf spinach, well drained
1 (5 to 8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped

Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and seasonings in medium bowl.

Stir in onions, spinach and water chestnuts.

Cover and refrigerate to blend flavors.

Servings: 20-24

stop buying canned veggies, they suck. get fresh spinach and cook it Chinese style (just get a Wok, add vegetable oil and put the spinach it, it'll come out looking like a restaurant - add sugar and salt once the water from the vegatables have come out)

best thing you can do with a can of spinach is throw it out the window or use it as a door stopper.

If I was in a bomb shelter with a pile of tins of it or something, or otherwise forced to try it, I suppose I'd curry it to unrecognisability.

I use it for pizza. With some feta cheese on top and black olives and sun dried tomatoes . Makes a yummy pizza.

You can always make my favorite food! (Veg, of course) Spinach casserole sounds gross but is delicious. You can find many recipes for it. Essentially it is pasta, spinach, cottage and cheddar cheese, nutmeg, onions, and eggs (so it is not vegan).

You can robably find other nice recipes using canned spinach @
