the same reason jehovahs come knocking at my door....

yeah i dont think they should do that either, its your preference. alot of the animals we eat are grown and raised specifically for eating otherwise we'd have an abundance of animals!

They find fault with meat eaters for the same reason that some religions find fault with other religions. They're different and therefore "bad".

Because.
Killing something that hasn't wronged just because we are intellectually superior to it is immoral, no?
If everyone killed the people they were smarter than there would be very few left on the face of the Earth. And you wouldn't be one of them.

Hey anonymous did that gazelle do anything to that tiger. It's the circle of life. I don't have a problem with vegans but they should get off their high horse when it comes to telling others what to do.

Many vegetarians, including myself, really don't care if you choose to eat meat or not. Life is about choices, and it's too short to get to wrapped up in the choices others make that don't coincide with your own.

like the bible says you can eat what is provided for you as far as the animals and plants of the earth. everything you eat has a purpose. those who chose to eat no meat need to look into what they are eating. the veggies are sprayed whether they are home grown or whatever. the process of bugs and the soil they are getting their protein one way or another. great they feel better about themselves it doesn't bring them any closer to perfection

the same reason non-smokers have to constantly remind you that you smoke and how awful it is - self righteousness- if you ever need someone to force beer upon ill play along- no stop no

Loads of them don't give a toss what other people eat, but nobody notices them -- because, obviously, they aren't ranting on about their/your diet.

Possible answers:

1 PETA's dreadful but effective (esp. with kids) propaganda/invective.

2 The need for self-determination, or, it sucks being alone.

3 Genuine concern for the admittedly lousy way animals are treated in the process of factory farming.

Re. 1: check out www.peta2.org (the brainwash-children arm of PETA). It makes me ashamed to be vegetarian.

"What’s your favorite PETA campaign? What have you done to speak out for animals in your area? The “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” campaign is my favorite. When I tell people how cruel KFC is, a lot of the time they tell me how disgusting they think the restaurant is, and that makes me happy. My first big animal rights experience was a protest against KFC. A friend of mine and I organized the protest and were the only ones who showed up. We thought it would be such a big deal. We e-mailed all the newspapers and TV stations because we were so excited. I dressed up as the colonel, and my friend attempted to dress up as a tortured chicken. None of the newspapers or TV people showed up, but my friend and I had a lot of fun protesting anyway."

Oh, okay. Being a pain makes some people "happy," and it's "fun." There's your answer.

You are overgeneralising. Some veggies don't do that. And they probably do see eating meat as doing something wrong, where as very few people could fault someone for not drinking beer. It's totally different. And I wouldn't do it. But that doesn't mean that it's wrong.

to Anonymous:

We dont kill them because we are smarter we kil them because we are hungry.

Many people today feel that they have made an informed decision. Since you did not come to the same conclusion as them, they think you are in the wrong. (I personally like to eat meat)

im a vegetarian n i dont tell ppl what to eat or not...obvioulsy i wont change their mind, not everyone is willing to give up on meat.

DIS GOES FOR DAT BROAD LYTLELUV DAT SAID ANIMALS ARE HERE TO B EATEN N DAT SUM ARE ESPECIALLY GROWN FOR US TO EAT AND IF NOT WE WOULD HAVE AN ABUNDANCE...NO SH!T B!TCH..UR STUPID COMMENT MADE ME SO MAD CUZ DATS THE REASONS Y ANIMALS ARE RAISED BECAUSE OF THE HIGH DEMANDANCE FOR MEAT..OTHERWISE PPL WOULDNT B INJECTING DEM TO REPRODUCE THEREFORE THERE WOULD B NO ABUNDANCE!!!

Frankly I encourage people to become vegetarian for many reasons. If you don't care about your health or the moral quandry of the death of another creature for your pleasure, then consider the environmental effects.

Just as we censure companies who are destroying our environment, I hold everyone who eats meat partially responsible for the rampant destruction of the rain forest for grazing land in South America, for the ground water pollution, for the erosion of topsoil in North America, and for the depletion of the ozone layer through the methane production of cultivated animals.

And lets not even start with world hunger. What we feed animals could feed millions of people.

Your actions contribute to a great deal of WRONG.
Take responsibility for it, or make a change. Try to respect the people who attempt to help repair the negatives of the world.

There is a great deal more to this decision than diet.
Check out the websites below for an exploration of the environmental effects and world hunger ramifications of eating meat.
